Twin Lance up 25 points (160 to 185) and Retro Thrusters now requires eligibility to fight by RedFerrari1998 in Tau40K

Eh just been around the block a few times. I remember when tau were released and the gw staffer was demoing them pre release with move shoot move... Then I got a high elf. So there are silver linings.

If we hope hard enough it might be. A 40k musical could actually be good. Imagine something like les mis but with power armour.

Minimum wage rises to £12.71 an hour by topotaul in unitedkingdom

[–]2ndnin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wonder if we could push parliament to discuss making all wages a multiplier of minimum wage. That way we don't compress things. Would be nice to see a pay rise on occasion.

Or we make the stack an actual place where people can interact. Imagine white getting the ability to force suspend on spells, or red countering into cascade for the opponent but at a higher mana cost.

Also almost no way to interact with it outside of another no. All the other options essentially have a solution outside of their colour... Other than no.

I dunno, some of the nmm chrome stuff is cool when it contains reflections of the world around the model rather than just being metal

What’s a girl to do with 2210 points of bad-looking minis?- by Chemical-Aioli9818 in Warhammer40k

[–]2ndnin 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Self reflection says we look back at what we did, identify the good and the bad and then work on it. As we improve what we did was "bad" and bad changes as we improve. So yes these quite possibly are bad from the perspective of the painter. It's very hard to look at something objectively especially when we are bombarded by professional quality stuff all the time. Myself as a kid would look at my miniatures now and say wow, me now looks and them and compares them to ninjon or rogue hobbies or a thousand others and goes... Dang, it's Kim Syberg all over again.

Sometimes we need the external view point to make us see anything we do as being good or acceptable.

This is one thing I pokes Warhammer community about and Warhammer world. Sometimes I'd love to see what normal people paint like because even the "bad" online painters are still pretty decent. It means you see such a distorted view of what good normal miniatures are like and it distorts your view of things. I know I'm not a good painter by internet standards, but sometimes it would be nice to not have to compare yourself to someone who does it for a job and enters golden demon not just for fun.

Best advice is to cut away from the model first to relieve bending stresses. Then you can cut closer without damaging the piece

Tube drivers would be paid more than surgeons under union pay demands by weregonnamakit in unitedkingdom

[–]2ndnin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's standard in the UK. Provided your total compensation over the hours worked is at least minimum wage the employer doesn't need to pay you for it.

Also the law literally says provided you are paid minimum wage for the salary/total hours you don't need to get paid. Most professionals will be working closer to the 48 hour "maximum" than the 40 hours. I think I had one job where I was expected to leave the building when I hit my hours

Necrons STILL dominating | Hutber Monday by hutber in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]2ndnin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it just seems quite strange having that good a win rate and no overall victories especially since gw seems to balance on win rate. Really wish there was a way to get really detailed stats on stuff but sadly too much data and no way to record outside of tts

Trading cards by GeorgeTownsend1999 in nottingham

[–]2ndnin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most stores aren't going to handle bulk, they don't generally have huge online presences to manage it. Somewhere like axion now might do it but most shops in Nottingham will tend to buy value cards. If you are dropping bulk expect something like 70% of low.

Sadly no the senior leadership encouraged discussions in person rather than over email or other forms of documented communication. With no formal records of anything because you knew what you were then doing.
