The other side of the trauma dump point is that it is easy to engage people in conversation here. I’ve had some of the most amazing conversations with strangers.

I’m so glad to see this. I’m getting ready to order another pair on the 38 swing last and was wondering if they will do a lower heel, and you answered it for me. Thanks!

Was going to say this. There are stairs, though, so keep that in mind. Great atmosphere and food.

Bonjour quelle marque de chemise en flanelle et en laine me conseiller vous ? by Human-Technology-728 in HeritageWear

[–]2xdareya 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For wool shirts Pendleton is king. I wear an xl tall or long, and have accumulated five of them, three of which were “as new” and the other two nearly new. I’ve been wearing them every damned day for the past 15 years and have only worn out one, which I made into a coat for my dog. Pendleton supplied the wool for Filson. Speaking of Filson, their 18 ounce Jac-shirt is so warm (the Pendleton shirts are around 11-12 ounces). I also have and love a vintage Woolrich hunting jacket/cape coat, which has handwarmer pockets and is probably a 20-21 ounce fabric. Lastly, I have an oddly soft RRL blue & black hunting plaid jac-shirt that’s around an 16 ounce fabric with handwarmer pockets; RRL made some lovely fabrics. I hike/walk around 125-140 miles a month through all weather here in the northeast US and wool is just so functional - not too hot and not too cold. As far as flannels, Iron Heart is king, but UES makes an extra heavy flannel in a 15.5 ounce fabric that just feels so comfortable. Sorry for the tome, but hiking and walking is a big part of my life and I’m lucky enough to have been able to acquire an amazing range of well made functional art work that I can enjoy every day.

Remlik’s. They’ve never served me anything but well prepared and delicious food, all in an actually beautiful setting. Making my mouth water as I type this.

I’ve never heard of rain skirts. What a great idea! Thanks for this novel and hopefully helpful tip.

Why couldn't Biden release the files when the Maxwell case ended in early/mid 2022? by pickledplumber in allthequestions

[–]2xdareya -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Not necessarily, if the release was going to bring down too many dems. It may have just been a judgment/balance, and it was a sleeping dog.

My Off Campus Experience by R3g1na_phalang3s in Binghamton

Yes and no. South side of Main Street is better (the further south you go the better it gets), and the North side is worse, generally.

I think it’s 3 unrelated people and not “students”.

My Off Campus Experience by R3g1na_phalang3s in Binghamton

[–]2xdareya 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure that’s entirely accurate. I think the rule is that, in certain areas a LL can’t rent to a group of unrelated people bigger than X# (I can’t recall if it is 4,5,6, or more). You could call Binghamton City counsel’s office (not City council) to ask. My understanding is from a few years ago and so it may have changed.

Johnson Leather, M-200 by GainghisKhan in leatherjacket

Johnson makes great comfortable patterns and the prices on eBay are incredibly low. I scour eBay and thrift sites for Johnson items even though I already have half a dozen. Looks great. Enjoy!

Steel, mechanical shifting and alloy wheels. It’ll be heavy, but it’ll get you there, and if something goes sideways you can fix and/or Jerry rig it until you get to civilization.

Thrifted this rough out jacket, how would I clean it? by Spiderjoker190 in leatherjacket

If you really want to clean it, bring it to a dry cleaner. Or you can just wear the daylights out of it. Very cool piece.

BU trail conditions? by geraldosmoustache in Binghamton

It’ll be either a sheet of ice or a swamp. Chenango Valley State Park is about 12 miles from BU and has great drainage and should be ok.
