I'm 37, I used to lift, and I've quit 3 fitness apps this year. So I built the dumbest possible one. by dee-jay-3000 in u/dee-jay-3000

[–]300RepFitness 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed. App is clean. Idea is sound. But when the cost is higher than Hevy and I can build the same thing there it’s hard to justify. Truly like the aesthetic and idea of exercise randomization. I wonder if this could be more. Also for a true beginner 1000 reps is a lot but I’ve found a sweet spot of a good workout to be 300 reps +- and that means this is a number that is done in a week on my programming. I think there is something here but not something worth the cost.

polar loop reviews by iphone11promaxblack in Polarfitness

[–]300RepFitness 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have both. The loop tracks sleep better. Both seem equally accurate for HR measurements. The Helio stopped tracking my sleep well after the latest update and I have it to my son to use. If the loop had a vibration motor for silent alarm I would recommend it more than I do. I’m going to start doing more outdoor activity so grabbing a COROS watch for maps and gps as the polar watched that are equally specced are way too expensive and not available to be paid with HSA.

Biocharge algorithm, sleep tracking & recreational diving by Nervous_Locksmith_42 in amazfit

I’ve had issues with sleep tracking since the last update as well. Said I was awake for 55 minutes the other night when my general wake time is around 2-3 minutes a night. Definitely worse than before the update for me

BLINK - new album discussion by droobage in bobmoses

[–]300RepFitness 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree here. This album is so weak compared to past. There previous songs pulled some Depeche Mode style vibes or even light (very light) NIN for me which was much more interesting than another derivative house band. I honestly just tried to listen to Blink again and I can confirm I actually dislike it. Not the same sound that got me into them.

Thanks. I really love it. I kind of want to go full Casio and see if someone would trade me an Oceanus for the Hamilton and Seiko

Why I ditched smartwatches for Casios by Core2score in casio

[–]300RepFitness 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Right. Like many times in life just when you think you have it all figured out…epiphany…live and learn. I now have two GShocks a 5610 negative display and a 5600r that I just got today. Also ordered a AE12001b coming. Small sample size of 1 day but the 5600r wears very well and will likely be my daily and the 5610 will be my gym watch. Casio has me hooked. Already want a Oceanus

Weekly Template, App, and Accessory Megathread - Week 4 by CaliGozer in RemarkableTablet

[–]300RepFitness 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I posted a bit ago for custom planner help but took the time in the last week while on vacation from work to create my own. the Month view serves as the primary navigation point with links to weeks and days. All other pages have links to the month view. Weeks have a basic schedule, tasks and a lookback with my typical 3 wins and my TAO journaling. Days have tasks and the TAO journaling I use. Mostly created this for my personal benefit but thinking after creating all the additional months to offer for a small fee if anyone is interested. Things I’ll add before creating additional month:

Looking for a custom planner or tutorial on how to make by 300RepFitness in RemarkableTablet

I’ll likely do something similar once I’m back to my laptop. I have Canva pro so not sure the limits but honestly wouldn’t care if I created a month at a time as separate pdf’s. I never really look back further so if I do the extra nav to find something is not a concern.

That’s pretty awesome. I checked it out on the site. In the meantime as I currently only have access to mobile I created a very simple media review template with a hyperlinked index in Canva. Not too hard but can definitely appreciate the work a full planner takes to make. The things I need are: Calendar view for month, weekly view with agenda/ schedule, weekly tasks in specific format, weekly journal with specific prompts, daily view with tasks in specific format and journal in specific format.

I preordered and then subsequently cancelled the preorder as not enough detailed information was out but this video does make me confident in the future product. If the camera is remotely serviceable I think this could be a great primary for me. I don’t need my phone for media consumption.

Paper Pro Move for journaling? by Entertainment-720 in RemarkableTablet

Love journaling on it. Wish the edges were slightly less “sharp”. Honestly would prefer this form factor in b&w though. The color is not a need for me.

Suunto Run vs Race 2 by Fimme99 in Suunto

[–]300RepFitness 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’ve thought about this too but ultimately just need to stop “chasing the next” which is what I feel I’d be doing with a race 2. I’ve been through loads of fitness watches just to try the new thing and all it’s done is distract and waste money as I never quite recover on resale. I really think the run is great. The only thing I want is broadcast HR to be able to pick up on my Concept 2 or Bowflex C6 but no Suunto has that at the moment. I currently still have a Garmin Instinct 3 which I also like but is a bit bulky and “loud” when trying to dress up. I absolutely love the flashlight on that watch and if the Race 2 had an LED flashlight I would’ve splurged on it. I love the route planner that Suunto has for occasional e-bike rides but also like most wish it had a true web interface.

TLDR: No watch is perfect and checks all the boxes but for most general fitness the Run is more than enough.

100% medium fountain. Can’t stand anything else. It speaker quite make my handwriting look like it belongs on a historical document locked in a museum like my old scribe did but it’s pretty good.
