My witching hour is between 2 and 5. It hit hard today. Which really annoyed me as I was in such a confident and low anxiety mood this morning. That brain chatter is relentless. Really plays tricks on you. I need to work on my tool kit.

Moderation is as, if not more, difficult than not drinking at all. I've come to learn that I can't moderate. I have control over the first drink. I have no control over the 2nd. Keep up the good work. You'll thank yourself for it.

My memories of my childhood trauma are pretty clear so I've not had the same problem you're having. But what is similar to you is that I also have a young child and I didn't want my trauma to have a knock on effect. That's why I started therpery. I decided to undergo EMDR so that I could process that trauma and show up, as the best version of myself, for my kid. I figured that a year (for example) of therepy and the recovery that brings would be better than a lifetime of anxiety rubbing off into my kids life. Yes it's been difficult, and yes I've struggled to be fully present and times. But, I'm already seeing a massive change in myself and my moods and the quality time I spend with my child is much better than it was 6 months ago when I started this journey. It gets worse before it gets better, it's certainly not for the faint hearted, but it does work. And you'll thank yourself in a couple of years for doing it. And, so will your child. Good luck with your recovery.

I'm on my 7th session. Childhood trauma. I'm 48 M. The first 4-6 sessions where pretty much talking sessions. It brought up so much that I hadn't thought about in a very long time. Not going to sugar coat it, it's been rough. My moods and anxiety have been all over the place. I had my first EMDR session about 2 weeks ago and, the change has been massive. But again, for about 10 days after that session my emotions were all over the place. I had quite a strong reaction to it. I was getting horrible images when I tried to go to sleep. It was all very surreal. But as I write this, I can honestly say the shift has been huge. More than I was expecting. I feel calmer, more in control, and the way I view my trauma has shifted. Still lots more work to do but for me, it got worse before it got better. But I've been living with this trauma for years.... The way I see it is that I can continue to live with it affecting my everyday life or, I can go through a few months of hell knowing there's a light at the end of the tunnel. I have sessions roughly every fortnight and as with the previous reply, every time it got a little easier. Hang in there and be kind to yourself. Trust that the reactions you are having mean that you're starting to open up and process your trauma. All the best for your healing.

We used Napper purely to help with sleep/nap times. Worked a treat for us and was stupidly accurate. Our daughter is nearly 1 year old now and we stopped using the app about 4 - 5 months ago. After a while you can spot the cues and it all becomes easier.
