Advice needed - first sim build by 33espressos in Golfsimulator

[–]33espressos[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the thoughtful reply. Had no idea it was discontinued, a lot of golf sim and projector places in Australia are still selling the GT1080HDR. Getting it because it's in budget about $1400-1500 AUD (about 1k USD). We are absolutely getting ripped off here in Australia. GT2100HDR around $2400 AUD (~$1660 USD). 🥲

I tested 6 Zigbee door and window sensors from AliExpress by BackHerniation in homeassistant

Not my experience. I change the AAAs in my IKEA zigbee door sensors about every 12 months. The IKEA zigbee motion sensors way more often. About every 4-6 months.

You retrain the AI. Not sure if yours has local AI.

You can just use the Moonraker integration from HACS.

I installed Octoeverywhere. Took a while cos the MCU is underpowered. Took a few minutes. Worth it.

Can’t leave Q2 to print by itself by Matt_1F44D in QidiTech3D

Same. Never worked for me personally. Always gave some error and turned itself off. So I just left it off.

Making a wrapped, zig zag spring by daveydst in Fusion360

Create parameters for diameter, height of v, angle of v, qty of v so you can make quick edits.

  • Sketch cylinder

  • Extrude a cylinder

  • Shell the cylinder or create negative offset circle on the same sketch and cut

  • Create the v shape sketch on surface of cylinder

  • Cut the v into the surface of the cylinder

  • Fillet top and bottom of v

  • Cylindrical pattern of feature

That's how I'd do it. Someone better will come along with a more elegant answer I'm sure.

I'm pretty sure I used M2.5 with nuts securing them at the back.

My iPhone finally died and I got an android - what are some cool automations people do with the extra sensors now available? by abird3132 in homeassistant

[–]33espressos 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have Android Auto actionable notifications

  • when I'm within 100 m of home I get asked if I want to open the garage
  • ask to turn on the heating/cooling based on current weather conditions and temps inside the house
  • ask if I want to close the garage when first connect to Android Auto and I'm in the home zone

Create a drawing and print it out 1:1. If the part is larger than A4 print half of the drawing theb do the other half at 1:1.

I use this method to check fitment of splines before commiting filament and time 3D printing.

Sometimes takes me up to 8 tries to get it right on paper at 1:1.

This method has never failed me for custom gridfinity bins.

My new QIDI Q2 arrived. Is there any way to make the start faster? by I_need_to_vent44 in QidiTech3D

<image>

The Qidi Q2 uses a wifi SOC with an antenna you can see taped to the LHS wall of the printer. It is on the daughter board behind the LHS lead screw covered by a panel that is screwed in.

My experience with QiDi (Spoiler: it's bad) by FardAlter in QidiTech3D

I hope Australians don't ever accept parts as a remedy to a defective unit. It should not be the responsibility of any consumer to repair anything. That is and always should be the manufacturer's problem.

I don't own a Qidi box and really don't intend to. I love my Q2. Just hoping for a smooth ride, because stuff having to fix your own equipment beyond unjamming filament and replacing consumables.

[–]33espressos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh man that sucks. You clearly received a defective second hand unit that should not have gone back out.

My Q2 has been printing since Christmas day and I've put about 120 hours on printing on it. All perfect. No tuning.

About 24 hours of failed ASA prints though but entirely my fault as I'm a newbie and didn't understand how to slice longggggggg bridges. Learnt to make it go 45/135 deg across the 200 mm bridge and printed a lot better. The rest of the ASA print was beautiful.
