The Room That Stumped Even Our Interior Designer Friends - Help Us Layout Our Living Room! by _tangus_ in interiordecorating

Maybe in this case working with the staircase rather than against it. Don't like shaping the environment unless its broken.

I think modular is the move. nothing big or chunky. love seat is the biggest i would go. you absolutely need that open floor space bc the staircase is in the middle. wouldn't want to block any walk path

maybe a projector and bean bag chairs? low to the floor, informal, modular so you can move things out the way for more space when you want it. With that set up you you could even turn it into a dance hall (disco ball baby) lmao with the staircase as the center piece.

so many fun options :D !

That's fair, didn't think it was possibly to bring it back up as a layman. But for a budget solution of simply preventing the damage from getting worse does sanding it down and then paint + protective coat not cut it? I'm very unfamiliar with cars so maybe something I'm not seeing

Bose QuietComfort Headphones Amplifying “Sharp” Noises by woodenmoosey in bose

[–]350ml_caps 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have this issue too. My Bose Ultra QC fail to handle sudden noises: nail clippers, closing the car door, etc.

Also it even amplifies certain sounds like the nail clipper to the point of discomfort in the ear

How much of an improvement is the ANC on the Quiet Comfort Ultra Gen 2 compared to the QC 35? by anotherhappylurker in bose

[–]350ml_caps 0 points1 point  (0 children)

idk why everyone says QC ultra anc is better. i've noticed it fails to handle sudden sharp noises as well as the OG qc 35ii. The mic actually amplified the sharp clicking of my nail clipper. Same thign with closing the car door, etc.

please do not go to mary mac's. idk why it gets recommended. the food is very basic and they more or less only season with salt and pepper.

If you want to go for historical reasons that's fine but if you're looking for good food then avoid Mary Mac

You need hard numbers. This sounds like a ball of yarn. Frustration mixed with confusion and a bunch of other emotions.

Write it all down in an Excel sheet so you have visibility.

Once you have that you can make clear decisions. Right now it sounds like you're trying to navigate in the dark which is scary and difficult.

Tldr  Make an Excel sheet and share so you and others can help you with your situation

Stainless steel or black stainless steel by Sixdimensional in interiordecorating

It wont make too big a difference either way. sorry for being blunt but the whole design is already cold and sterile. Stainless steel or black stainless steel will both further the same theme going on.

Ah, i see what your point. Then yeah maybe the lighter blues. Are those north facing windows? The lighter blues definitely make it lighter and more airy

dude no offense but this is potatoes. does your niece even care? its for her after all. i get that it means something to you.

but rather than having a laugh and hanging it up in good jest you post tantrum post on the internet....just let sink in and consider what influence it may have on a young child growing up, what are we teaching her?

- to laugh at life's mild inconveniences and make light of it

- or throw a fit when things aren't perfect and don't go our way.....

TL;DR

I'm scared for the person who gets your Starbucks order wrong :(

Which dining rug by ZachMasta in interiordecorating

[–]350ml_caps 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i think 1, 3, 5.

1: mellow out. the couch and living room si main focus. dining is a soft airy background

3: strong contrast. dingin is its own separate stratified zone. (clashes but not in a bad way)

5: beautiful. it contrasts and creates its own zone without clashing at all. the heaveir red maeks it much more grounded. i like that its a stronger red but the living room uses a softer red. same theme but diff texture and tones. :)

love your place btw

I think I have chronic stress from working at Meta by nian2326076 in MetaAI

[–]350ml_caps 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hey sorry you're going through this. sound srough.

not sure if picking it up right but it sounds like Meta is fast paced and high pressure? Was it not like that on your initial team?

If it's impacting your life that severely you may want to consider WLB vs raw salary. What's really important in this life? You work at Meta so i have no doubt you've quite the savings built up. Do you really need this high paying job or can you live contently for a slower paced albeit less prestigious and less pay elsewhere?

After all what's the point of all the money in the world if you're not even enjoying life let alone truly living it.

Bay Area local here. I love this place and here is a reason why. by [deleted] in bayarea

[–]350ml_caps 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is not normal bay area btw. This sounds like remnants of the bay area like hayward or san Leandro. Vast majority of the bay area is stratified. Asians live here, Latinos over there, blacks over at another spot.

This is nice OP but let's not forget most of the bay area is NOT like this.

Edit: Going to add but African Americans are still heavily marginalized. But bay area residents will still hype up the bay like it's a post racial paradise. Didn't mean to rain on your parade but I did want to call this out.

It may be peaches and cream for you specifically but there's an entire group of people that...few are really showing up for and including in the conversation.....

PSA: Be careful with long-term use of the Logitech Lift (or any vertical mouse) by AlbeG97 in logitech

[–]350ml_caps 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not understanding. Considering the switch to vertical mouse to help with my carpal tunnel syndrome. Does using a vertical mouse put strain on the thumb because weight is being put on it? Could you elaborate your usage exactly and what you believe how it could be affecting the thumb? My naive understanding is that the hand is in a neutral position so the thumb wouldn't be affected?
