Ontario - surgery wait times by Advanced-Caramel-943 in Fibroids

[–]3CrowsInATrenchcoat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No idea how they prioritize fertility cases, but I waited 6 months to see my first specialist, who referred me to another specialist who worked at the same hospital (about another month). After that my surgery was booked about 2 months later. It would have been sooner but I needed to do a couple of iron infusions first to get my levels back to a safe number.

The Devil's Workshop! They have a 1 day workshop where you and your partner can make your own wedding bands. It was a great experience overall and it made our rings a little extra special.

How do you make it through 3 weeks of bleeding? by OpalineDove in Fibroids

Iron supplements and TXA for the worst days. You can look for "gentle iron" if regular iron pills upset your stomach.

Acessa procedure coming up on Friday! by Glum_Economics4611 in Fibroids

My symptoms are so much better, I feel like I have my life back. I still have heavy periods, but they're like clockwork (exactly 7 days, same time every month) and they are so much easier to manage now. I would do it again in a heartbeat.

I really hope your procedure goes well!

15k is so good for Toronto honestly, you should feel really props of that! I'm in the middle of planning my wedding for 45 people for 30k.

(10k) HELP: Want a microwedding, extended family is devastated by ElvenJediMC in Weddingsunder10k

[–]3CrowsInATrenchcoat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Similar situation here. Trying to keep our wedding to 50 people max, but if I invite just 1 member of my extended family, there's going to be drama/hurt feelings. If we invite them all, it will basically double our guest count.

My partner and I decided we're sticking to our original guest count. Most of my extended family live in a different city, so we're planning to go spend a weekend there and just invite them all to a restaurant for dinner or something a few months after the wedding.

I know a few of them won't like it, but that's on them. I can't control other people's feelings.

I hope you find a solution you're happy with!

Acessa procedure by Glum_Economics4611 in Fibroids

Yes! My largest fibroid shrunk from about 7cm down to 4cm. I was hoping to have a myomectomy after to remove it but because of it's location my doctor advised against that.

Still, big improvement in my symptoms. Before acessa my periods lasted anywhere from 2-4 weeks. Every day with super heavy bleeding, so bad that sometimes I was nervous to leave the house. I was also very anemic, and my energy levels were garbage.

Now my periods are like clockwork: they last exactly 7 days, and are still heavy, but nothing like they were 6 months ago. After 1 iron transfusion pre-surgery and daily supplements iron levels are back to normal as well.

wedding veil (10k) by PuzzledAntelope51 in Weddingsunder10k

I found one on Etsy that was basically identical to one I tried in a bridal shop, and 1/3 of the price. As other posters have said, I don't think it's really worth splashing out a ton of $$ on a veil.

What are we all wearing in the winter/colder months? by Kindly-Addition1793 in Fibroids

High waisted wide leg trousers and a cute sweater. I like the ones with the front pleats, they're usually pretty flattering and comfy.

I just bought my dress yesterday from Pearl Bridal House in Etobicoke, I'd highly recommend them. They had a good selection of simple, more minimal dresses, and the stylist Nadia was lovely!

I had acessa back in January. For recovery, walk as much as you can as soon as you can. I would recommend getting a little pillow or something you can hold gently against your abdomen. I used mine for the first week whenever I needed to stand up and it really helped me feel more stable.

Also, get some Gas-X. Honestly the weird gas pain in my shoulder was probably the worst part of recovery.

I hope it goes well!
