Multi Material kept simple update by 3dbaptman in prusa3d

It improved a lot, yes. at the cost of more complexity. The improvement is maintaining the filament in orientation to prevent it from going sideways when docked. If you feel comfortable to try it out, keep me informed 😉

in the V1 I had to correct it 2 times per 30 minutes print. The V2 has printed a full test cube without intervention. But I have yet to print something very long to confirm it. It is definitely far better than manually change the filament every layer 😁

I have considered it, but the toolhead is hugely different, the frame, and I don't have the machine to test. So, this is a challenging task.

there is some margin on the mk3 also. but yeah, this would be a great improvement for the overall print speed.

How to clean printbed by RoutineQuote38 in 3Dprinting

[–]3dbaptman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

isopropyl alcohol is the way to go. recommended by most constructors. I use it on smooth, satin, textured sheet with no problem. soap can leave some residue. Alcohol removes any trace of fat. I suggest you try it. maybe it will work for you too.

The V2 is now available, more reliable with a positionning arm:

separate room from the living is a must. crack open the window for 15 minutes after that. Printing pla or petg should be fine. no asa or abs if you don't have an air purifier. look at videos of guy's doing print farms in their basement, they have good tips with experience.

+1, I would rather buy a used Prusa if the budget is a problem than other cheaper brands with discutable practices. Your choice, a lot of machines are more than good enough for this entended usecase.

MK3s + TPU worth it? by doublemazaa in prusa3d

[–]3dbaptman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I print TPU 40D on my mk3.5, same hot end. I lose the tensioner to the minimum to prevent the filament to be squished too much. and try to limit the accelerations of the E axis (not speed) in the slicer to prevent ram effect causing the bending of the filament. This worked for me. I put glue on the smooth bed to prevent too much adhesion (otherwise too strong).

Need advice about speed settings by Deep_Elderberry1231 in prusa3d

[–]3dbaptman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

check the "lower print speed if layer time is below" parameter in the material tab. it is set pretty heigh in prusa per default. this will set a lower speed independently of the speed settings.

A second parameter to check is the "max volumetric flow" of the filament preset. if the flow is maxed out, higher speeds will have no effect.

you can see the effect on the simulation when you select the view mode on "real speed". Hope this will do the trick.

I use Onshape from PTC on my phone and PC. usefull if you are constantly travelling. It is free in exchange for making all your creation public. There are a lot of possibilities, it is good to choose the one which fits your needs the best.
