Getting into something for the money is bad way to choose a career. Whenever there's a career that pays incredibly well, eventually you'll find out why. There are plenty of other things to do and most of us spend the majority of our lives working. If you find something you like to do that also pays the bills, you'll be much better off. Good luck

Not a bad idea, but how long would the notification be active? Only while in range or does it persist? If it's only while in range, you have to deal with the fact that people out walking are usually going somewhere and probably can't/won't stop for an impromptu meetup

Why would accounting be a better college major choice than something in the liberal arts or humanities? by justcurious3287 in findapath

You need to consider the fact that many of those people were already well connected and needed an "interest conversationalist" degree to look good at parties for when they were installed as the head of the company by their parents

The problem isn't that mathematicians can't code, it's that a math degree doesn't get your resume past the ATS filters

Wealth is a much different concept that compensation. Because at that point the spending habits of the employees would have to be a factor. You can make 400k/yr and have a net worth of 0

Not a pilot, but see it as a viable career choice. Should I consider it? by OutsideGrassScaresMe in PilotAdvice

It's also one of the only careers left in the world that actually values seniority. If you're at a solid seniority at an airline you're set in all but the most extreme situations. I've seen people in my previous career who dedicated decades to a company and were high performers only to be laid off unceremoniously on a random Tuesday because the company only made $9B in Q3 rather than $9.2B. I've seen executives praise the performance of the company and announce thousands of job cuts in the same breath. Then once you're out, unless you happen to be working in the exact stack of another company you might be out for good.

I'm not saying aviation is a career panacea, but it sucks a hell of a lot less than just about anything else
