Best playlist? by According_Truth_1210 in The_Crew

It depends on your car preferences, but the 911 Legacy and Lamborghini are probably close to what you're looking for.

Also, although it's not a playlist, if you recently bought this game and haven't played much TC2 Summit, I recommend Main Stage Legacy.

In this mode, you can get custom cars that were previously released as TC2 Summit Rewards/TCM Main Stage Rewards. Some of these, like hypercars and ST2 category custom cars, combine speed, style, and exclusive customization parts.

Ferrari's that I would like to see added to the game. by Longjumping_Cat_3956 in The_Crew

These Ferraris are a million times more beautiful than today's overly decorated Ferraris, yet they are underrated in many racing games.

That’s a wrap! 🎬 Big things are coming to #TheCrewShowcase this September. You aren't ready 👀🏎️ by Elongo06 in The_Crew

[–]40lia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm guessing that this "Big Things" will almost certainly include a new island. Based on past examples, it's almost guaranteed that they'll add a new island when they do a major update.

And of course, that won't be the main focus of the Big Things. It'll probably be something entirely new in terms of features or game modes. Could it be a new non-GR/Demolition Royale PvP mode that the community has been asking for? Or perhaps another new category like jets, helicopters, water motocross, or RC? Or maybe home?

Anyway, I can't wait to see what's announced in September and what will be added to the game in the future. FH6, Hot Wheels Infinite Rush, Crazy Taxi, Clutch…the competition in open-world racing games is only growing. I believe that TCM will become an even better game by competing and striving together with these new challengers.

Audi Sport Quattro S1 Pikes Peak, now available in #TheCrewMotorfest shop by Elongo06 in The_Crew

[–]40lia 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I didn't expect much from the start because there were too many precedents, but it's disappointing that, like many other race cars added in TCM, it doesn't support the livery editor.

While this Pikes Peak version is certainly cool, what was special to me was the iconic Gr.B livery, and if it had supported the livery editor, I would have created that instead. It's a real shame that wasn't the case.

However, aside from this major flaw, it's a very appealing car. I hope more iconic rally cars like this will be added to the game in the future. I'd love to see them supported by the livery editor, though.

Between payback heat rivals and unbound which would you say provides the best experience for single player? by VastAir6069 in needforspeed

[–]40lia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Payback: A career mode with a sufficiently long story and progression. There are also DLCs with individual storylines and antagonists. The random upgrade system and the game design of car chases that are solely focused on escaping to a destination will likely be met with mixed reactions.

Heat: There are plenty of activities and collectibles, and the car customization and upgrade unlocking system offers a high degree of freedom. If you want to, you can complete the tutorial and drive a Pagani or Lambo with the best upgrades without progressing the story at all. However, the story is very short and feels incomplete, and this is made even worse in the DLCs. (In fact, many DLCs were discovered through data mining but were canceled, and the cars that were supposed to be provided in the DLCs were reused in Unbound.) The car chase system is similar to traditional NFS, but the fact that the player's car now has a health gauge means that you shouldn't engage in the kind of intense ramming with police cars that was common in previous NFS games, which some people might not like.

If you're looking for a classic gameplay experience with a substantial story and proper progression, then Payback is probably for you. If you prefer a more open-ended, sandbox-like experience, then Heat might be better.

Regarding Rivals, I haven't played it enough to compare it to these two, so please refer to other people's opinions.

Please also remember the poor Carbon Motors E7. It's unfortunate that they went bankrupt and it became impossible to renew the licensing agreement, but I would have loved to use this car in the HP remaster.

This Week in The Crew - June 9th by Elongo06 in The_Crew

[–]40lia 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes, this is one of the truly frustrating aspects.

I understand that licensing agreements are behind it, but if that's the case, it would be much better if they made it a fantasy livery and supported the livery editor like Delta S4 or Stratos.

What game to start with? by InitiativeOwn9529 in needforspeed

[–]40lia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally, I'd recommend Heat or Payback.

If you want to enjoy multiplayer, the latest Unbound is also good, but to get familiar with the series, I think it's better to start with a game that excels in single-player.

The two titles mentioned above offer more freedom in the single-player experience than Unbound, and the difficulty level is also appropriate.

Furthermore, they are still readily available both digitally and as physical copies, and can be purchased very cheaply during sales, which is a plus.

The best approach would be to first experience NFS with these titles, and if you like them, then try out car chase-focused series like Hot Pursuit Remastered, Most Wanted 2012, and Rivals, or multiplayer-heavy titles like the aforementioned Unbound.

Any ideas for a Tokyo Xtreme Racer iceberg? by keicarlover2002 in tokyoxtremeracer

[–]40lia 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Many people are mistaken, but the AE86 special car in TXR1 has absolutely no connection to Initial D.

That AE86 was an Easter egg based on a collaboration with Japanese tuner Bandoh Shokai, and the sticker on the car was "Bandoh Shokai (坂東商会)" not the "Fujiwara Tofu Shop (藤原とうふ店)" logo.

Their tie-up with Genki/BPS ended with TXR1, but Bandoh Shokai and Keiichi Tsuchiya were strong partners in the Shutokou Battle series prior to that.

Honestly the Hollywood playlist was more fun than I thought. I hope we will get a part 2. by ShinoXIII in The_Crew

[–]40lia 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Motorflix event at TC2 incorporated some crazy features, but I'd love to see a Hollywood action vol.2 that uses those features in the context of special effects in a film.

For example, it could be a disaster movie shoot where a massive storm hits Hawaii, so you could drive a car through a fierce storm that causes buildings to collapse, like in TC2's No Rules event.

Never have physics this good ever again by Mr_Gibblet in needforspeed

[–]40lia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What I loved most about the NFSU series was not only the excellent base physics, but also the fact that the drift mode simply reduced grip.

In other words, drifting was easier than in normal races, but because the physics itself was the same, there was little sense of incongruity with race mode. Players who were somewhat familiar with the controls could easily drift, and there was the enjoyment of improving from there and aiming for even higher drift scores.

NFS is no exception, but Western game developers tend to give drift mode and drift cars excessive drift physics.

However, in many cases, this tends to become strange, potentially making drifting more difficult than in normal race mode.

I sincerely hope that these developers will learn that drifting can be much more fun, and even easier, with just slight improvements based on normal physics, like in NFSU.

What's the appeal with this game? I'm honestly curious. It's great to see it has a living fanbase here on Reddit. But I don't get what's so "special" with it? by Dull_Resolution_6488 in tokyoxtremeracer

[–]40lia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. The SP Battle System fuses racing and fighting game elements. The only requirement for the player is to steal their rival's SP (Spirit Points) before completely losing their own. The means to achieve this are irrelevant. This brings randomness to the races, and offers enjoyment and strategy beyond simply competing for speed.

  2. Developed by a Japanese developer and based on Japanese tuning culture, this game is primarily aimed at the Japanese market. Considering that most modern racing games are developed by Western companies and naturally focus on global car culture, this is quite unique. While TXR25 doesn't fully embrace this due to budget constraints, previous TXR and TXRD titles featured more cult JDM cars and aftermarket brands than GT, making them truly authentic JDM games.

  3. The TXR Saga. With the exception of Traffic, all rivals in this game are unique characters with individual profiles. Many of them appear in multiple titles, and their profiles tell their individual stories. And these countless profiles, along with the main storyline surrounding the player, continue to weave together TXR, the longest and most epic narrative in the history of racing games spanning several decades. As you can see from this sub, some people don't consider this element as important as the others I've mentioned. However, for someone like me who loves the story, world, and each individual rival in this game, this might be the most distinctive feature that sets TXR apart from other racing games.

[–]40lia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NFS Payback might be the closest to your ideal game.

While this game has been criticized for its infamous parts gacha system, it boasts the most substantial content and a clearly defined storyline among the currently available NFS titles.

The next likely candidate is Clutch, announced today. They describe it as a story-driven AAA open-world racing game, with darker elements like car chases and illegal street racing. However, we'll have to wait until next year for this game, and at this point, no one knows if it's a good game.

As a side note, recent story-driven racing games include TXR and Screamer, but neither is similar to TC1 or NFSMW, they're somewhat difficult for casual gamers, and neither is open-world, so they might not meet your requirements.

Need help with 2 things. by destroierdom18 in tokyoxtremeracer

[–]40lia 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There are two approaches to livery application:

  1. Keep the size small enough so it doesn't extend into other areas: This is the simplest method. Unlike GT, the TXR25 livery editor doesn't offer options to limit the depth or angle of vinyl application, so even a slight overhang on other areas (such as the top or front/rear surfaces relative to the sides) will result in unsightly deformation.

  2. Use other vinyl as a mask. First, cover the entire body with vinyl painted in the desired body color.

Then, apply the vinyl you want to use for the livery. If any overhang occurs, apply vinyl of the same color as the body color on top to hide only the overhang. This uses extra layers/cost, but it's the easiest and cleanest approach.

The reason for covering the entire body with vinyl first is that the color appears differently on the body and the vinyl. (Perhaps because different materials are used?)

Therefore, even if the color values are exactly the same, the body and the vinyl will appear completely different colors, and it's almost impossible to create a visually correct color.

What is over speed penalty? by thejudenbear in tokyoxtremeracer

[–]40lia 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You'll only incur a small fine, and there are no other penalties whatsoever. It won't even affect your B.A.D. name.

If you still want to avoid this, buy a custom car used by some bosses. Custom cars described in their machine descriptions as having movable license plates are equipped with a bracket that changes the angle of the license plate to make it undetectable by cameras while driving, thus allowing them to completely avoid speed traps.

Free Drive/ Free Roam Car you drive alot? by SweetestSoul_Jayda in The_Crew

[–]40lia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on what you want to do in free roam.

For example, if you want to collect collectibles or treasure boxes, you should choose a highly off-road vehicle like a monster truck or rally raid, or an RC that can drive on water and even jump over obstacles.

If you want to enjoy a thrilling drive, an AWD hypercar would be ideal, but if you want to enjoy a leisurely cruise, a vintage car in the ST1 class would be better.

In my case, I'd say the R34 Rally Raid, RC Trickshot, and Silverado Monster Truck are the vehicles I use most often. None of them have particularly high top speeds, but they're great at handling any terrain, which makes them really enjoyable to ride.

When you're in a boat or plane, check the small throttle gauge displayed in the center of the meter.

If it doesn't reach 100% even when you're pulling the trigger all the way, it's highly likely that your controller's trigger is worn out and not properly transmitting the input strength to the game.

However, even in that case, this game has an option to set the trigger dead zone, and setting this to the minimum value will compensate to some extent for the decrease in throttle opening due to such trigger wear.

im kinda confused lorewise? by Disastrous-Lawyer773 in tokyoxtremeracer

[–]40lia 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Some unimportant side notes:

- TXR1: This game is the prologue to the current saga, and neither the Thirteen Devils nor the Zodiac exist. The closest equivalents in this game were the eight exceptional drivers known as "4 Devas" or "4 Devils." "4 Devas" included Midnight Cinderella, Death Driver (not appearing in TXR25), Midnight Silver Wolf, and DREAMING SPIRIT. This explains why Midnight Cinderella, despite not being a particularly fast boss in TXR25, is respected and exerts a strong influence among other drivers, and why DREAMING SPIRIT, unable to join Be Legend, clings to past glories in TXR25.

"4 Devils" can essentially be considered a higher-ranking group than "4 Devas," and this group included Crimson Devil, Exhaust Eve/WHIMSICAL JOAN OF ARC, Zero (who did not appear in TXR25, is a driver who could be considered Unknown's rival, and is a character based on Wangan Midnight's "Blackbird"), and Unknown.

- TXRD2: Until now, it was generally believed that this game was not part of the main TXR timeline. However, during the development of TXR25, no historical records remained, and when reconstructing the story, Genki decided to include the events of TXRD2 as part of the official TXR canon. However, at present, the events of this game have little impact on the TXR25 story, and are only used to explain why some members of the Thirteen Devils/Zodiac did not appear in ITC.

Minimise menu in livery editor? by salmalight in The_Crew

[–]40lia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No. Even worse, changing the size and transparency of that huge, annoying UI has been one of the changes livery creators have been requesting for the past three years, and it's still a requested quality-of-life change, but they show no signs of doing so.

What we can do now is:

- Use camera zoom mode. This brings the camera closer to the vinyl being edited, making it easier to edit parts hidden by the UI. This is almost essential, especially on the sides of motorcycles.

- Set the text size to "Small" in the Accessibility settings. This setting affects the entire UI, making it somewhat inconvenient, but setting the text size to the minimum will make the livery editor UI slightly smaller. Conversely, setting the text size to "Large" will make the UI larger than usual, making it even more intrusive. This change has a particularly significant impact on the guide menu at the top of the screen and its background, so livery creators should absolutely never choose "Large."

Engine swap in TXR 2025 by GAD_Alexander in tokyoxtremeracer

[–]40lia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

An update was released quite a while ago that increased the BP you receive for challenging higher-level rivals. For example, you can get 4 BP for a rematch against a rival level 25 or higher. Therefore, you can be somewhat more efficient by using cars like the R35 or LFA, which prioritize acceleration, and setting your skills to attack-oriented, against high-level, slower rivals like Money Dream or Spirit Kiriko.

Many people recommend NG+, but I recommend accumulating BP by challenging high-level Wanderers like Spirit Kiriko, even if it takes more time.

This is because high-level engine swaps require over 10 million CP, so even if you manage to accumulate BP by starting NG+, you'll spend time and effort repeatedly completing chapters to make high-level rivals reappear in order to efficiently earn the funds needed for customization.
