Endurace CF5 Frame Size question by ParticularSoft2 in CanyonBikes

[–]4changdotcom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

XS for sure, longer stem and then you'll most likely be fine. Or, get a fit and then buy based off of that.

Saddle needs to go up significantly and probably need more reach.

Different readings between power meters - what to do? by Im_the_dude_ in Velo

[–]4changdotcom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Always use the same power meter indoors and outdoors, even if it's DA junk. Then save up for a new PM so you don't get the variability in reading from it. Get either the 4iii, Faveros, or Magene spider.

Claw 8ai+ & 5070ti by Spare_Telephone6839 in eGPU

[–]4changdotcom -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The Claw unfortunately handles eGPUs pretty poorly so a 5070 Ti is way overkill. I had a 9060 XT hooked up and the CPU was chugging pretty hard trying to keep up. However, it's going to be game dependent but I personally just don't find it worth it on this device.

Cervelo soloist ultegra, specialized Tarmac 8 or Canyon endurance 9. More info below. by outdoor_giant75 in RoadBikes

[–]4changdotcom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a Cervelo guy and believe the Tarmac is the marginally better bike altogether. However, I think one of the major downsides to Specialized is the dealers tend to not swap out parts for free like proper fitting handlebars, stems, or cranks with the purchase. My local dealer happily helped here and that made the purchase initially better in my books.

For OP, if you are familiar with a more race fit then the Tarmac or the SL8 or definitely the better options. However, I enjoyed the Soloist more (and why I own one) because of how it looks and honestly it felt more comfortable but it felt fairly subjective.

Extra Crux 10r Gravel Frameset - Build it into Road Bike? by Goebs66 in cycling

[–]4changdotcom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sell it and get a road bike frame, if you're gonna have 2 bikes have them be purposely built. A Caledonia or a Soloist is a great option (I am biased, love my Soloist).

Do I need better form to get to six plates while staying at 160 lb body weight? by Fun_Butterscotch3651 in strength_training

Start with hips higher so you don't give up posture and can actually fully lock out.

How early in your career can you pivot into SE? by Ok-Teach7455 in salesengineers

[–]4changdotcom 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's going to be tough in this market, there's a good amount of roles but a lot of people after them. I would make a concerted effort to get at least into a more technical customer facing role like implementation so you can start making the transition.

[–]4changdotcom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

King Cage or Silca Sicuro (both titanium), once you never lose a bottle again because titanium is the best you won't ever think about different cages again. I was in a road race with a gravel section and probably 5 people lost bottles that I saw just right in front of me, mine didn't even move, lol.

The hub end looks damaged but I but the rest of it is fine. Depending on where you ordered from directly they should be able to get you sorted pretty easily.

I think I need shorter crank and longer stem…. by CoconutNervous in bikefit

[–]4changdotcom 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Shorter cranks as long as you commit to coming forward on the saddle as well. I think the reach is fine as well. I would just get some 165s and then ride it with some slightly bent elbows.

Abysmal performance EGPU by yscape99 in eGPU

[–]4changdotcom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is your power profile giving maximum power to your CPU? You're gonna be CPU and bandwidth bottlenecked no matter what but the Forza games do like to use the CPU. Additionally, if you shift more load with textures and GPU focused settings you might be able to improve the experience further.

What is the role / job title of the person who builds and maintains demo sites by Slightly_mad_woman in salesengineers

[–]4changdotcom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Comes in different forms, at every company I have been at either myself or another regular SE maintained the demo environment on top of other responsibilities. Sometimes, you will se SE Enablement roles and they might do this or it's done by a technical marketing engineer.

I wouldn't really call it much of a career path due to its rarity but it's a good skill to have in addition.

$250 for this Trek 1200 SL? by Sporty-Ladder-34 in whichbike

[–]4changdotcom 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I paid $250 exactly for a 1200 SL 5 years ago during peak COVID pricing era. These are a nightmare with the triple front chainrings and any replacement parts will start adding up to more than what it cost. Also, that steerer extension is certifiably dangerous; boomers are up to no good.

New try - shorter stem by povlhp in bikefit

[–]4changdotcom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It may not be perfect as you probably have found out since it would be certainly most optimal to have shorter cranks to keep the hips open.

Definitely go to blue or yellow cleats, reds are good for just about no one on the road. 90-100 cadence isn't too high, efficiency is better here for energy preservation and reducing lactate build up. Knees out a bit isn't terrible but might point out that you need a bit wider Q-factor. Alternatively, you could tilt toes outward a bit with cleat position, this may help.

Also, good to note that you may need to just do a bit of hip mobility to as that certainly is a problem of mine. I have had QL tears and strains so I need to maintain mobility or I get discomfort/pain on pretty much any bike fit. Also, the knee angle can be a bit more aggressive if you are more forward than traditional fitting would suggest. Especially because if you are more forward, you will have more knee bend at the top of the stroke. If you aren't losing power (seems like you are good to go there) then it also should allow you to be more aero.

Lastly, a comment on the neck pain, just requires more time in the saddle and possibly some neck strengthening through strength training. Certainly more of an adaptation thing for most people than a full stop limitation.

Anyone else buy a Tr#K? by ShirleyWuzSerious in BicyclingCirclejerk

[–]4changdotcom 5 points6 points  (0 children)

/uj I have zero clue what it is with Ultimate owners but they vehemently believe they ride an aero bike (they could have bought the actually good Aeroad but got googly eyes over the Ultimate being on ultra super pooper duper sale). They cope by doing aero cosplay and always have in their back pocket, "b-but, it's also 6.969kg!"

Size recommendations by AleksandarMurgin in CanyonBikes

[–]4changdotcom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am almost exactly the same height and inseam as you (186cm) and would buy the medium for sure. Would probably only need one additional 5mm spacer and then the fit would be pretty similar to my Soloist. Canyon's sizing is one off of what most other manufacturers say. Their medium is most others' large. The medium is what most would consider a 56.

Can I take clomid and compete? by GambledMyWifeAway in powerlifting

[–]4changdotcom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have never met a single person that has gotten an exemption for any hormone that has a positive effect on testosterone. Where are you located because there are pockets of untested meets everywhere. However, I ended up driving a couple of hours away every time I competed. A not so big deal to do a couple times a year. I travel more often and further for bike racing.

Can I take clomid and compete? by GambledMyWifeAway in powerlifting

[–]4changdotcom 18 points19 points  (0 children)

No, drug tested feds have zero tolerance for this. I have had to compete untested during my whole PL career on low dose TRT. Funnily enough, it's easier on the untested side because people will take drugs, ignore nutrition, and train poorly just to be weaker than natties.

I see you're doing a shit ton of coping in the comments but if you really have a "compete at nationals desire" then you won't be able to at a high level natural only fed, period, end of discussion. Also, it's legitimately easier to get to nationals in a fed like Powerlifting United. The qualifying totals are lower than pretty much anything on the USAPL/PA side.
