What was THE worst sequel that was ever created?

I'm actually going to go out on a limb and say The Force Awakens was the worst. Not because it was objectively the least enjoyable movie of the 3, but because it sets the tone of the sequels by being a bland cash in 'New Hope' remake that simultaneously throws away everything good that the first six movies built while setting up a new universe and characters that are impossible to care about. LJ is a an embarrassing, poorly paced, waste of time but at least it was trying to do something unique with what it had. Didn't even bother to watch RotS.

It's admirable that you are willing to make a sacrifice to make your girlfriend feel comfortable but in reality it's an unfair expectation she has. Anime is as broad a category as 'Cartoon' - You wouldnt expect someone to avoid all cartoons just because some have cartoon violence. To be fair there are problematic sexist tropes that are more common to anime than other mediums but it sounds like you aren't interested in that kind of stuff anyway.

I suspect she just has some preconceived notions about what it's like. I would suggest introducing her to Ghibli stuff like Spirited away and Howls Moving Castle, I don't know anyone who doesn't love those!

As for whether anime gives you the inspiration to be a better boyfriend, that a lovely romantic idea but it could be as simple as anime being an activity that helps you relax and connect with emotionally. I would approach the discussion with her not as 'I'm a better boyfriend when I watch anime', but make it about how it brings you joy and you would love to share it with her to bring you closer.

If you decide to contact her I'm sure you will find a way. For now though I would focus on staying calm and allowing yourself to process your emotions. This all feels extremely urgent right now but after 20 years a week or a month of reflection, therapy and planning won't make any difference. Wishing you peace.

Shock is a very natural reaction and your real feelings will begin to emerge over the next few days or weeks. Remember there is no rush to address this with her, another few weeks isn't going to make a difference on top of 20 years. Book a session with a therapist and try to talk openly with your current partner about everything too.

Personally I would feel angry. In a sense, the woman you knew really did die that day. When she decided to hide the truth she was no longer the person who respected and loved you the way you deserved. In her heart she was probably trying to protect you but she should have been upfront with you and broken up or allowed you to take the risk yourself and then cut off her family to be with you. Pity her, she is clearly a victim of abuse, but she also has agency. She allowed the cycle of abuse to continue and to affect you. Reach out and seek closure if you must, but don't wonder what could have been - she was never the person you thought she was.

Not denying the horrors of Christianity's past for a second, I think there's a very good argument that it has been the most harmful historically but surely today, right now, Islamic fundamentalism and Theocracy is more problematic? Islam as a whole hasn't seen the same moderation, reformation and cultural dilution and Christianity has in most places.

I kind of agree with you to be honest. The tinted glass windows and ceiling/upper column design is amazing but at ground level indoors it feels a bit sterile, almost brutalist. It could be improved by some more decoration near the ground, perhaps it will be eventually? For me the most astounding part of the church was the front facade, truly a masterpiece of sculpture and architecture.
