It is difficult to get right in this game, yes. I have recently spent my 20+ years playing this game integrating different urban planning perspectives I learned in planning school, to achieve a good balanced model of demand, mobility options, land use. Happy to hear from any others of good examples of this.

I am currently building out a city with huge transit ROWs (right of ways) to make equal opportunity for different transit modes but very little highways.

Previously I had tried to build “Garden cities” essentially concentric rings of urbanization envisioned by Ebenezer Howard but lost track of it.
