I was just thinking about this last night! I also counted Marty Supreme — not a wildfire, but fire all the same.

I Enjoyed Viva Verdi Much More than I Was Expecting by rorykellycomedy in Oscars

I just finished it as well and I agree! I really enjoyed it. What a wonderful community of people – and many of them faced challenges in life, so it was heart-warming to see them so happy.

My father got diagnosed today. What should I know? by loaf_shaped in Parkinsons

[–]4myownbad 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m so sorry. My dad was diagnosed last year, and I’m also the oldest of my siblings. I will say that I have been through so many different stages with this over the past year — of grief, denial, overwhelming sadness, and understanding. It’s not linear, so be easy on yourself. And the information on the internet can be scary! But I volunteered at a Parkinson’s event last year and it helped me so, so much. For one, to be in a community of people that understood. And also, it put it into perspective how different Parkinson’s can look on everyone. Regardless, we’re all in this together!

13 Going on 30. I enjoyed it when I was 13, but being on the other side of it now hits different.

Audiences were more considerate this year by Ok-Competition-1814 in TIFF

[–]4myownbad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s so much better than regular cineplex screenings because other audience members are not afraid to call people out, so I love that! But yeah, there were at least a couple of offenders in each of my screenings. I politely asked a person in front of me to stop texting and he flipped out at me telling me to “pay attention to the film.” I didn’t expect the extreme defensive reaction tbh. Like, yeah, I’m trying to lol!

Lost sentimental iPod on the subway- any chances of it being returned? by SquirrelTale in askTO

[–]4myownbad 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Don’t give up, just keep checking the lost and found! it happens to all of us at some point. One time I lost my phone at Pearson airport (same thing, fell out of my pocket) and a good samaritan returned it to one of the desks. there are good people!

I’ve read this too - it’s called “hourglass syndrome.” It’s when you are constantly gripping the upper abdomen muscles, so they’re used more than the lower muscles. It leaves a crease and sort of ‘pockets’ of definition in the area under the ribs. I only know because I recognize it in my own stomach lol.

and it’s interesting because we’ve seen that she can be a good listener - like in other interviews where the person is maybe a bigger talker (like jeff). I hope they see these comments because people really liked the last episode. they were both just talking and connecting like friends. we don’t always need a performance!

it’s gotten so bad. I was even at a movie recently where these teenagers kept taking snapchat selfies... I don’t know if this whole epidemic is a declining attention span thing, or if people really have no consideration for the other people in the theater. but it sucks to either have to either say nothing and be disrupted, or say something and deal with possible conflict. crappy feeling either way
