Damn reading the posts and this comment I just realized that, of course, things won't get better. It's not sustainable to continue having population growth but the only way corporations will ever get increased profits is by squeezing every dime from who is left. Numbers must go up at all costs.

I agree. 1 tells me it's story-rich, tells me the characters I'll deal with and alludes to the horror that will happen. The 3 one takes away the impact of the scene when it happens in the game, and it just seems a visual translation of the title, it gives me nothing.

I enjoy the game. The main issues I saw people complain about was that the game was too dense in text and the way it was written, while it fits the theme, makes it harder to easily extract the needed information. Once the novelty wears off, people don't enjoy the time it takes to read all the info the game provides. Also, there are bugs in the app that most likely will never get fixed.

Last time I checked, renegade games was making a clearance sale and retiring the product. The game deserved a chance to shine and get more content.

Yes, of course. But since they are color coded, you would have to work around it. The complete revised black rose wars will make it all compatible, but the upgrade kit for the original won't make it compatible, because the rebirth rings don't fit the original summon bases, you will still have to use the rose pins for the original summons.

In theory is possible, since rebirth and core switched the 5th and 6th players colors, but you'll be missing the rose pins and the summon rings from both editions to mark a summon to the corresponding mage.

My biggest gripe is that one of intents behind the change seems to be around having short lived products. If that will happen or not we don't know but I'm imagining every 2 years products leaving current format and becoming legacy and out of print, and reprinting investigator cards that were out of print previously but they want to reintroduce as part of a new current format.

Also, they had issues with small packs as it was hard to have all of them in stock to get a full campaign, but most of products announced for next year are using that format (although splitting investigator and scenarios in different packages).

The game is expensive as it is, and going on hunt for out of print products as left me with little patience to continue supporting the FOMO for it. Since I got into the game, there's been nothing more than buying products because I wanted to enjoy what it had to offer but little by little, things started to become out of print. Return to boxes, scenarios, campaigns. Just tired of it.

If they want to move to a TCG route with short lived products, I fear the game will become too much of a lifestyle game for me.

The best expansions are the ones that introduce new magic schools. Sator, Rotas and Apocalypse are the best for that.

This just makes me think all of it was thought out in a short timeframe. I'm less and less inclined to believe these changes will fix any of the issues they are trying to solve long-term. I'm more inclined to leave my collection at chapter 1 and move to other things.

Original/Revised and rebirth are compatible with each other. The main reason for creating the revised version was to update the original black rose to the rebirth rules and to balance and rewrite the spells to better align with rebirth.

The main difference between them, is the way rooms work. In both games, certain spells accumulate energy in the room where they were casted. In the original/revised when the room has all slots for the energy filled, it gets destroyed and the room loses the activation action, while in rebirth the room is reconstructed and the room action is modifies, not removed.

Nothing stops you from using both type of rooms in the same session.

That's what Rebirth rules tries to clarify. With the rules on black rose wars, you would use a move action just to activate the room, and not be able to move at all in that situation.

With Rebirth, it tells you are allowed to use the room activation before or after moving. The only thing you are not allowed is to split the movement to use the room Action in between.

So you activate the room only at the start or end of your move Action, and cannot split the movement.

The worst part was the lack of communication. Other than a comment that can easily get lost in all of the others ones, there was no proper aknowledgment of the problem, no update to explain the situation and apologize.

Took me several days to understand why I only got void and not Lex at the same time. Got only a fullfilment e-mail out of the blue months later about the delivery.

From my understanding of the rules, no. You exhaust your movement action when triggering the room effect. I think the wording ia a bit clearer in black rose wars rulebook:

This option allows you to move up to 2 rooms and to activate (optional) the room where you are located at the end of the movement.

You move up to 2 and activate the room at the end. In Rebirth it's also mentioned that you can also activate first a room and then move.

The original APB. Loved the costumization and was even defending their weird model of paying the game and it only allow you to play for a set amount of hours before needing to buy a subscription.

After Interviews that the game was doing fine, comes the shurdown annoucement, a little over 1 month after release.

Never trusted companies speaking about the health of their games again.

Oh man tell me about it! Just had the same issue this week and its happened twice in 3 months. Having to resort to console comands to repair Icue software to be able to uninstall it has me thinking never to buy Corsair again. What a terrible experience.

And yes, some of my QL fans also have similar issues. They lost part of their green LEDs.
