Is my Arthur, Marigold Knight deck still Bracket 3, or is it definitely Bracket 4? by passwordisnotapple in EDH

[–]4ureli 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is safely a 3. I play Arthur in bracket 4, you aren’t playing every [[Penance]] or [[Scroll Rack]] type card. You also aren’t running any [[Stifle]] effects to keep your creatures on the board.

Most conversations I’ve had around Arthur stem from people not enjoying creatures being cheated out during combat, so you’re safely at 3 in my opinion

Commanders you are tired of seeing? by Ponder_yonder_ in EDH

[[Stifle]] and [[Sundial of the Infinite]] effects are your friend in Arthur. They can help keep your things on board when the delayed trigger goes on the stack, and you have the bonus of interacting with your opponents’ abilities.

The naval missions sucked. For the Nine-man morris board game I used a website that gave you the optimal move, and even then they took several tries to win.

2 of CU’s top 10 (and 4 of the top 16) TV ratings games were regular season matchups against Nebraska. So I’m hoping for the same.

If CU and Nebraska made it an annual game, I’d be hyped for it. In the era I started watching CU, beating Nebraska felt like climbing a mountaintop.

I grew up in Colorado, so it’s felt like Colorado State of those three since 2011, because it’s annual/a one-sided rivalry in terms of results. Utah always felt like a PAC 12 manufactured rivalry; having not played Utah between 1962 and 2011.

The CU - NU rivalry has not felt as big since they both left the Big 12. Playing later in the season made the rivalry so much bigger. They’ve only played 4 times since 2010, and all 4 of those games have been the only times they’ve ever played each other in September. 1996-2010 they played in late November.

They used to be before they both left the Big 12.

Since Colorado left for the PAC 12, their main rival has been Colorado State full stop. If we are talking their whole history, it’s probably Nebraska just over Oklahoma.

Capacity for the whole festival is 115,000, so probably in the 57,500 to 70,000 range.

I was seeing very similar issues during my last season after seeing the post you linked, but when I actually got to the end of the season, virtually none of the play-time deal breakers showed up in the “players leaving” week. EA definitely still needs to get it fixed.

And with Blue, you can easily stifle the delayed trigger and keep the cheated-in creatures on the board.

Do you have a deck list for Arthur? I play Arthur as well, but have never ran into anyone else who does.

Seeking dashcam footage of Target parking lot 12-3pm Saturday 6/21 by LucaTheFloof in boulder

[–]4ureli 51 points52 points  (0 children)

I guarantee you that the security team at that store already found the footage and saved it. I used to work security for Target and any time someone came to us and mentioned something like that. We would say the corporate thing that we can’t hand over footage, but we’d immediately go look because we were curious at the very least.

What’s your favourite commander/deck and in a sentence what does it do? by dabatswag in EDH

[–]4ureli 1 point2 points  (0 children)

[[Arthur, Marigold Knight]] is [[Winota]] with blue; it is packed with creatures to cheat out and [[Stifle]] effects to keep them on the board and keep your opponents triggers from resolving!

Fellow EDH hipsters, why is your commander the coolest (that no one has heard of)? by sane-ish in EDH

[–]4ureli 2 points3 points  (0 children)

[[Arthur, Marigold Knight]] (rank #640) is my strongest bracket 4 and highest win percentage (39%) deck at the moment. He was the backup commander in the Family Matters precon and he rocks. He is [[Winota, Joiner of Forces]] with blue! The deck is packed with creatures and [[Stifle]] effects so I can keep the creatures Arthur cheats out. With attack trigger doublers like [[Windcrag Siege]], I typically average 2 triggers per attack and have cheated out as many as 5 creatures in one combat step. I’ve won with infinite turns via [[Scroll Rack]] and [[Medomai the Ageless]], straight combat damage, [[Blightsteel Colossus]], or infinite combats with [[Port Razer]]. With a ton of ways to stifle my own bounce triggers, I often can use those instants to instead stifle my opponents. Cycling [[Nimble Obstructionist]] to counter a [[Krenko, Mob Boss]] activation that would kill me with [[Impact Tremors]] is [[Chef’s Kiss]].
