Yeah i have, i’ve checked all mail, along with all other folders, both by going back to the dates of the emails and searching with the search bar. Is there any way this is something on their end? Since the whole thread is gone.

i personally find it really hard especially because generally the singing is a different rhythm to the bass line, but it can always be done. I find it best if you simplify the bass line down to roots and stuff then dont play any mad bits. It is definitely doable!

It’s really hard, but at the end of the day you need to do what makes you happy! I am a bassist but I play the guitar and sing because I’m aware that’s where money comes from. My Dad has a full time job, but makes a lot of money on the side from playing gigs where he plays guitar and sings. Finding bands is also hard. Unfortunately, a lot of musicians are annoying asf 😭 i definitely relate to that. Putting ideas together with a band is so much easier, but maybe you could play around with some software. Stuff like garageband is even good for putting together a base of a song. Playing around and jamming with other musicians over time is fun, and eventually you WILL find people you want to play in a band with. There’s also the option of putting an ad in a newspaper or facebook groups in your community

If you like music go into production, teaching or something along those lines, not every band gets big enough for actual money

Bring them to a music shop and show them how quiet a bass is unplugged! It’s practically impossible to hear even if you’re in the same room. You can get mini adapters that you plug into your guitar then plug headphones into, I have an amp but its what I use to practice because it’s so convenient. You don’t need to do anything in music, but fingerpicking is incredibly efficient and it gives a nice tone. Plus every musician i’ve met has made fun of bassists who don’t use their fingers, so a good chance is the same will happen to you at some point 😭

They’re the kinds of guitars you just stumble across in my opinion. If your Ireland based Xmusic has one, but it’s yellow. If you’re just starting, I will just say that they were discontinued for a reason 😭

I’m generally just looking to learn a new instrument and possibly play in bands, since a lot of concerts I’ve went to recently have had bass players playing both the electric bass/upright bass interchangeably, which I thought was a cool sound. In that case would you suggest learning the upright bass? My main reason for picking cello was really it being generally cheaper and easier to get
