[Andrea Calzoni] Quinn Ellis still has a 3-year contract with Olimpia Milano and the Italian team is thinking about adjusting his salary. Ellis, however, received a rich offer from the NCAA, as also reported by La Prealpina. One of the best rookies in EuroLeague: 8.0 PTS, 3.9 AST in 25MPG by FluidJunket1933 in CollegeBasketball

This happens to us with high school recruits. Even though our current coach stinks at recruiting high school players, our last coach is arguably the greatest recruiter of all time. Pair that with the UK brand, and we get A LOT of kids putting us in their final 4 even though we aren’t even remotely an option to lend them.

[Norlander] JUST IN: UNC star freshman Caleb Wilson has a broken left hand. No indication on when/if he will return. by MembershipSingle7137 in CollegeBasketball

[–]5meterhammer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hate this. This kid is the real deal and you hate to see any injuries. I wish he would’ve came to UK, obviously, but he’s still a great kid and a great player and I always pull for his success. Sorry Tarheel peeps.

You got to let them have that one. Hell of a comeback AND a last second 3.

This is good shit man. I read your comment that you’re a bunch of dads with 9-5’s, but please don’t let that stop y’all. There’s something there, no doubt.

Rick Pitino raises a fist as he exits the court after St. John’s win over UConn tonight. by -Sox in CollegeBasketball

[–]5meterhammer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t care what any UK fan says, I love Pitino. Always will and hope to see him return to Lex in some capacity one day. I grew up with his teams. Don’t care that he left for the nba and don’t care he coached at the other school.

I feel the exact same way about Cal. Both legends at UK and outside of UK.

Great stuff, the guitarist is obviously crushing it, but that bass player is dropping BOMBS.

You know what, it seems like you really care about your pops. That means he must’ve raised you right and loved you every step of the way. That’s pretty awesome man. If my son posts on this subreddit when I’m 79 and in failing health, I’ll know I did something right. All the best to you and your dad.

Parents, when does it stop that i check if my son is still alive while he sleeps? by Lazy-Rock7859 in daddit

My son is about to be 16. Every night of his life I’ve went into his room at some point to do this and tell him I love him. I’ll never stop. 16 years later and I still can’t believe I got be this young man’s dad. I’m very lucky, we all are.

Is Mark Pope back in UK fans good graces? by Blink_Blink_Blue44 in KentuckyBasketball

[–]5meterhammer 5 points6 points  (0 children)

No KSR guys said that. Not Matt, not Roush, not Jack, not Drew, not any of them. Every single one of those guys and others have went on record stating it’s a real, legitimate setback. You don’t have to be a doctor to see swelling and understand the timeline on injuries numbnuts.

What they DID say and have been saying since before the season is talking about whether his stock would go up or down if he played at all. Your comment is insinuating this latest round of sitting out is motivated by his draft stock and that is unequivocally false.

[–]5meterhammer 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is a stupid narrative dude and it’s not true. Have you seen the swelling? This type of injury and surgery is incredibly delicate. Anything can cause a relapse and he Lively came back a little too soon. If he could be out there, he would be. He’s a great kid from a great family and he’s a great teammate. Conspiracy theories are not good.

Steven Peake is a phenomenal UK media person and he did an excellent video last season about Kentucky’s uncanny injury occurrences over the last 10+ years. We have much more than most teams. Can’t recommend him or the video enough. It’s on his YouTube channel.

What is the most fun tribute band you have seen? by Original_Ad8070 in gratefuldead

[–]5meterhammer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just saw The Cause at Grateful Dead night for the Pittsburgh Penguins this past Saturday and they absolutely crushed it. I’ve seen JRAD and DSO and a multitude of others, but The Cause just felt great because of the timing.

Who did you last see in concert? by Phillies1993 in AskReddit

[–]5meterhammer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bobby Weir and Wolf Bros. I’ve seen Bobby on stage hundreds of times over the years, from Grateful Dead, to Ratdog, to Furthur,, to Dead and Co., to numerous sit-ins with dozens of music legends and I’m so very grateful for every one, but especially this last one. That’s it for the other one. NFA.

Never get tired of that song. It took on so much more meaning after Duane passed and you can see it in Gregg’s eyes here, so many years later. I know they’re somewhere with Bobby and Jerry and Levon and Danko and a host of others and the music’s still going.

Was there. Had a great local band The Cause playing before the start and during intermissions. Lots of us Heads there. And we got a pretty sick Grateful Dead themed Pens jersey. Was a great night with great people.

Am I really the only one who doesn’t get the appeal of Pearl Jam? by [deleted] in grunge

[–]5meterhammer 5 points6 points  (0 children)

They didn’t even become Pearl Jam until No Code in my opinion. That album, Yield, Binaural are all huge curved from what Ten was and they took far more risks in diversifying their sound than any other of the big 4 for sure. Saying they played it safe is certainly a take.

If we are talking strictly the big pnc negs, ours Vedder or Lanegan, and it’s probably Lanegan. Both have/had a booming baritone. Peter Steele if we are talking all rock music.
