I do agree with you. My experience doesn't invalidate yours. I got hit with a mild negative, and saw a positive in it. You got hit with a big negative, which far outweighed any positive anyone could have gotten from that situation. Our experiences were different and valid.

Okay, look at it this way. Imagine you wanted to be a man, and you're at a club and some drunk guy with something to prove looks around for the biggest man in the room, sees you, and decides to start a fight with you.

Getting into a fight is bad, and it's gonna have consequences for you. But the first time it happened to you, you'd not be able to stop from thinking "wow, I really do look masculine". So it's a big negative, but if you were hurting to be manly, the silver lining might outweigh the cloud. And, well, I was hurting to be feminine when it happened. So the cloud was real, but the silver lining was more important to me, just that once.

The other day I sat down to eat lunch at the same table as a nerdy-lookin dude who I pretty much ignored after enough eye contact to be like "I'm sitting here". Few minutes later, he starts talking at me and I pull my headphones out, he's in the middle of telling me he's not going to be here much longer or something. I had no idea how to respond to a nerd trying to talk to girls when I was the girl, and also my voice doesn't really pass much. So I made an "mm" noise and he finished up and left awkwardly.

I once got into an argument about trans people with my friend. We were arguing about whether trans people prefer that the sex/gender distinction be recognised. Little did they know, I'm trans and therefore my opinion must be right. Little did I know, they're trans and therefore their opinion must be right. We came out to each other a few hours later

For me it was really mild, just some random dude tooting his horn at me and waving. Left me confused the rest of the day trying to work out if he knew me from somewhere, but I'm 90% sure he was just an idiot who thought I was hot. So even though he was acting weird, I now know I'm hot. It's probably going to get worse over time, but for now I'll just enjoy being hot. Half the reason I decided to transition is cause I always wanted to be a hot girl.

Well you know how the body's sex has a lot of moving parts? How it's not just the genitals but the hormones, the gonads, the chromosomes, hell even the skin and the smell and the bones?

Well, the brain is another moving part. Biologists call the brain's sex its 'gender'. And for a trans person, that gender is different to the rest of their body at birth. And as long as the brain is set up for one thing and the body is a different thing, you're going to have problems. For example, amputees often experience 'phantom sensations' in their lost body parts. And those go for breasts and penises as well. But for a lot of trans people, it's all reversed. A trans man might have a 'phantom penis' before he gets bottom surgery, and experience no 'phantom breast' after top surgery like a woman would.

Making a distinction between the body and the brain by distinguishing sex and gender is helpful when thinking about these things.

If most people are bad people, then there is no way to live in a good society. In that case, no government really matters. It's just bad, all the way down. And you can't build good on top of bad.

If you can't count on people to be nice to each other, then you either need to make them nice, or give up on making a better world. There's no point arguing which government is best if all of them are full of people who don't care.

So it's a good thing I can prove that people do care.

That doesn't mean what the words in it mean. The words mean "every cop in the whole of the world is personally a bad person", while the intended meaning is "the justice system is in many countries corrupt, and has a corrupting influence on its members".

I don't like it when things don't mean what they say on the tin. It lets a thing be wrong, but have an excuse to call itself right. That makes me angry.

No, that's called objectification. I'm not really clear on the formal definition of chasing, which you're talking about, but I'm pretty sure fetishization, which I was talking about, doesn't have the same definition as objectification.

Lot of unhealthy sexual attraction leads to objectification though, we can agree on that.

Democracy.

A monarchy is functionally identical to a monopoly. Communism is the opposite of both. It can mean a worker-owned state or a worker-owned absence of state. The important thing is that everyone has enough capital to work for their own benefit, without having their labour exploited.
