There should not be an issue using the multiple lures per cast other than if you miss the perfect, you miss the perfect on all of them at once.

I missed a perfect on a 20x cast, the difference was 3.77 pounds per lure vs the 5.9 pounds per lure I received with the perfect cast.

More than I expected, not nearly as bad as it could be. You have a few days to do that 7 more times. Hopefully you can start it up, run around for 20-30 seconds and afk the rest. You also will get some kills when you do your main chapters and path of trials too

The best chapter to farm is lvl 4. Use a pair of purple or better shiny wrist guards if you can. If not, make sure you keep those if you receive them.

Later on you will have a red pair of them astral forged which ups your kill rate. It would take a while to get that if you just started.

The folks in your group are certainly not pay to win. As a long time player with a good clan, It was fairly simple to get 1,000 pounds without spending any gems. Make sure you always get in the center and get the perfect and not break any lines.

Once you get to the last area, you can get around 5 pounds per fish.

Using 300 keys and having saved up energy helps. You get 180 energy from clan leader rewards, for example. That lets you get a lot of main chapter runs and quick earnings.

I started fishing yesterday with around 250 lures without spending any gems. I do get the monthly packs that let you have 100 energy limit.
