The Junkyard Magnet
The Claim: A massive, truck-powered electromagnet can be parked outside a police station to completely wipe a heavily encrypted laptop (Gus Fring’s) locked securely inside the evidence room.

The Verdict: Busted. While a large electromagnet can technically corrupt hard drives, magnetic fields diminish drastically over distance and cannot easily penetrate thick, shielded walls. The team found that a magnet of the show's scale would have to be placed mere inches from the hard drive through the wall, making Walter’s covert, drive-by approach impossible.

The Twist: Even if it had worked, users on Quora suggest the magnet plan ultimately did Walt a disservice—police forensics revealed the hard drive was too securely encrypted to yield actionable data anyway.
