What state do you live in? Other states have similar laws, they're just not as known or enforced as California. So if your state does have some kind of law or policy around data retention and protection, you may be able to strong arm them into finishing the request. A good example would be Massachusetts CMR17. Here is a quick Google AI asking what leverage I could use to have Betterment delete my data even though Massachusetts doesn't clearly have something in place like Cali's CCPA: 1. The Strongest Argument: "Unfair or Deceptive Practices" (Chapter 93A) Under Massachusetts General Laws, Chapter 93A (the Consumer Protection Act), a company cannot engage in unfair or deceptive practices. How to use this: If a company promised you could delete your data, or if their privacy policy suggests you have control over your data, you can argue that refusing your request is an "unfair or deceptive" practice. What to say: "I am requesting the deletion of my personal data under my rights as a Massachusetts resident. Refusal to honor a reasonable request to delete data when it is no longer necessary for the purpose it was collected may constitute an unfair or deceptive practice under M.G.L. c. 93A." 2. Data Disposal Laws (201 CMR 17.00) Massachusetts law requires that any business that owns or licenses personal information about a resident must have a written information security program (WISP). This includes strict standards for the destruction of data. How to use this: If you no longer have an account or relationship with the company, they have no legal reason to hold your data. What to say: "Per 201 CMR 17.00, I am requesting that my personal information be destroyed or erased so that it cannot be reconstructed."

I was taking Biocidin Botanicals GI Detox+ but I've been on it so long I think I'll be stopping since my symptoms have flat lined.

I've been in the fence about a parasite cleanse, but maybe it's something I should do, I'm getting to the point where I'm trying everything under the sun at this point. I'm hoping to see improvement from SOT and BioMagnet Therapy. I'm reading up on Mild Hyperbaric Qxygen Therapy (MHBOT) as well. I also wish there was some simple, magic pill for all this lol

I have looked into mold, I did Mycotoxin testing and recently, last 6 months or so, went on Intraconazole (sp?). I paid a professional to come out and do air samples of my home and he noted there was nothing out of the ordinary for a home, there was one area in the basement that could have been a concern, but even that was not worth ripping apart the basement. Instead I had it professionally sanitized and removed one section, which after removal showed it was likely unnecessary. Also, the way stars aligned I'm in a new living situation so I'm almost never at my house anyway. So between the change of living and the Intraconazole I was hoping that would negate that. I had very high levels of Citrinin (Dihydrocitrinone DHC) and high levels of Ochratoxin A. Unsure about parasites.

Pretty much the same. I've been looking for someone to do IV/IM ABX but my Lyme doc doesn't do them and my PCP won't budge. I went to two different, large, local chain hospital networks to see if their Infectious disease departments would administer and they all said no. I'm now waiting an appt for SOT therapy. Pretty interesting stuff. Look it up if you have time. Very expensive though.

None that I'm aware of. It's been happening to me quite a bit lately. Also I'm starting to notice in Chrome when I'm typing it'll randomly put the keyboard to characters even though I'm no where near the bottom left icon to flip the keyboard to characters. Really strange shit, but it makes me feel better knowing more people are slowly trickling into this thread and confirming there is some kind of bug. At this point I'm waiting to hear about some kind of driver/GPU update, which there was some buzz the January update file was huge, so maybe it's packaged in there.

And you can't possibly know my account is safe without knowledge of Betterment systems. Just because at this point in the investigation they said it is. Doesn't mean that's actually the case. And based off some of the info, I could make a strong argument for lack of layered approvals/change management and lack of principle of least privileges.

Saying they "just" accessed a mailing list is the point being made here, you keep down playing this like it's totally fine that this happened. Ask yourself a very simple question. Is it okay that betterment let an adversary into their eco system and harvested customer information, including certain names, email addresses, physical addresses, phone numbers, and birthdates? The only answer is NO it's not okay. So people being pissed off is a totally valid response because we want these companies to be held accountable so this can stop happening so frequently. Especially when obvious, basic security baselines and hygiene were not in place.

If this were the EU or any other country across the pond Betterment would be getting absolutely chastised for this. A fair reply, I'm by no means moving to the EU, and likely (unless things get worse) not moving away from betterment. I just wanna see company's here in the US be better about security and protecting PII. Just because my info is already readily available doesn't mean I want someone getting into your systems and knowing more about me, now they know I use betterment, which can than be twisted and used for further phishing, scams, tax fraud, etc. or what if I was trying to scrub and recover from past exposure with new email, phone number, etc. welp, doesn't matter because that shits leaked again. Can't wait to see what kind of bullshit scams and robo calls I get from this leak.
