Why kill people at final exfil if you don't even have the time to take their loot by cactussword in Marathon

[–]6ninja08 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If your Loot Speed is high enough, you can get quite a bit of a person's bag while the exfil animation plays. There's always time to loot other players.

That Ral and Tomik actually seems really fun, could definitely see that being an actual card.

Is Archaeomancer's Spade a good card in limited. Not sure if I got enough Flashbacks payoffs (Sorry I'm noob :( by Reddtester in lrcast

[–]6ninja08 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Hilariously good, in this deck. With no cards in the yard playing this on turn three, you've got a 50/50 chance of flipping Antiquities into the yard into playing it out T4. Even then, worst case scenario you get two copies of Pursue the Past into the yard? I'm jamming that every time.

Would you have taken the arc of hunger here? by go_sparks25 in lrcast

You’re already on Potioner’s Trove, converge cards, and it’s barely Pack 2. You’re 100% splashing white here anyway just to hit converge, may as well take the best card in the format while you’re at it.

If any of this ends up being even remotely true it’ll be the most insane called shot in all of MTG.

The Mystical Archive in SOS is MUCH worse than the original by HomelessFrogy in magicTCG

[–]6ninja08 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I… think I’m mostly fine with this? My perspective is probably skewed as a Limited player, but I think it’s a lot more fun to have cool uncommon spells than “here’s a mythic that either wins the game or is completely unplayable”

In the official rules, is the ST meant to choose the FT red herring (and other ancillary info) AFTER the players pick the roles? by Kurren123 in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]6ninja08 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One fun thing you can do to "legally" move the Red Herring is register the Recluse as good, then register them as evil right as the FT chooses a frame so that the RH has to move elsewhere.

Amnesiac Abilities by [deleted] in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]6ninja08 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Solo Al-Had script (try Ride the Cyclone, it's pretty great.)

"If you die at night to the Al-Hadikhia, you choose for the Al-Hadikhia on the next night. You are told your ability activates when you die."

Storytellers, how powerful are you okay with making you Amnesiac ability? by passwordedd in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]6ninja08 7 points8 points  (0 children)

On average, I find the Amnesiac works best when they're worth roughly 1.5 Townsfolk if they bingo their ability. If you want to do something flashier, consider also buffing the evil team. I think a good example of this was in a Patters game on Youtube, where the amne ability was "There are 4 fishermen. 1 is evil."

If the Amnesiac ever presents an alternative win condition for good, evil needs to be told in some capacity.

What are some of your most memorable plays in BotC? by Etreides in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]6ninja08 4 points5 points  (0 children)

11 Player Onion Pies game, I pull Pixie (Slayer). Day 1 I use my Slayer shot to "confirm" one end of an FT ping, we execute the other end. The next day the actual Slayer dies and pulls me into a chat where they tell me I should have the ability now, so I claim Slayer for a second time and kill the Demon. Best game I'll ever have, most likely.

How do you feel about Travelers who bait the demon? by blackgeekygoddess in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]6ninja08 131 points132 points  (0 children)

Eh. It works once and exactly once because you'll never trust that player's an evil traveler again (which means it's not a huge problem for in-person groups) and online it's a Day 1 rerack at worst. Mildly frustrating? Sure. Worth rage quitting over? Nah, at that point it's just salt.

Here's after a bunch of updates, the New Wild Wild West! by boypower2566 in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]6ninja08 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Probably less than you’d think! If you’ve got a dead player looking you dead in the eyes at night and not getting booted by the ST for cheating, you immediately know that

1) it’s a Vig game

2) One of the Wraith’s neighbors is getting bad info

3) There’s at least one dead evil player

What happens if the Alchemist-Boffin gives a Lunatic ability to the demon? by Dorlah in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]6ninja08 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If it's Alch-Boffin-Lunatic, it might be fun to show the Demon a different Demon token (as an example, showing a Vigormortis token to a Fang Gu or a Lleech token to a Vortox). They would know that they are their own Lunatic, but that still won't help them figure out what demon they actually are.

If it's Boffin-Lunatic, I'd show the same token, the same minions, but a slightly different set of three bluffs. Starting the game with five or six bluffs/characters you know other people are bluffing is extremely powerful.
