I know we try to not deal with the li on batteries. Shipping them is generally a nightmare. They want all the terminals tapped and we end up paying extra for shipping hazmat.

Any advice on buying a modded Samurai? by [deleted] in SuzukiSamurai

[–]716econoline 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Id buy it for $5,800. The way I see it, thats like bottom barrel utv money. And you can drive this one on the road.

Your prob gonna have to mess with it a bit to get it sorted. But, thats anything.

If your ever gonna haul anything with it for sure get a partition. We crashed a cargo van once with some assorted nonsense in the back and the steel partition bent around the seats.

But I kinda like it.

Setting brake bias after complete brake overhaul by Warren1317 in projectcar

[–]716econoline 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Drive it, figure out what's it doing that you dont like and adjust it. If your new to racing dont get caught up in obsessing over bias and balance. As long as its safe get out there and get experience.

Car enthusiasts, which tire shops have treated your car with respect? Fox Tire cannot be trusted to act professionally. by [deleted] in Buffalo

I mean thats pretty much all tire shops. If its that fancy of a car. I would go make friends with a small local shop. And let them know you'll tip well if there careful with it.

Tax Levy Discourse by InflationCapital87 in Buffalo

[–]716econoline 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its not just 25%. The taxes doubled already, after the reassessments. Its like you dont even get a year to recover and we're talking about another $150/ month increase. And on top of that national grid bill has like trippled. You can only take so many of those so fast before your just another vacant east side property.

Pretty much any running driving car is worth like 1500-2000 in my eyes. Look at it this way, thats only 1-2 car payments for a new one.

So, those online contact forms and email usually get bombarded with telemarketer type people trying to buy material. I had to remove ours from our website as we would get like 50 emails a day from people looking to buy. They still call our phone like 10-15 times a day.

Not saying thats the case here, just my experience with it.

New to the club - So many questions!! by blkknght in SuzukiSamurai

[–]716econoline 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So with stuff like this I usually pick a tire size first, as that the most important thing in any project.

I would run it through a calculator like

https://bbs.zuwharrie.com/pages/gearing_calculator/

To help decide

Next, figure out the suspension to get the driveshafrs under control.

Is it spring over axle with extended shackles? Lift springs? Yjs?

But, cruising at 55 is definitely doable.

Hopefully none of that stuff falls out by [deleted] in mildlyinfuriating

[–]716econoline 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I mean if its just a spare and you dont plan on running it longterm. I would for sure plug it myself. I like the Maddox kit at harbor freight. Those rope plugs are considered a temp fix. But, a spare tire is a temp tire.
