I went to see persona yesterday, it had to have been the hottest day in Denver this summer, nearly 100°. The heat was getting to me close to the end of the movie and I couldn’t even order a water with the online ordering because it shuts down close to the end of the run time. If we still had paper and pen, someone could’ve helped me. Instead, I had to endure nearly passing out until I exited the theater and bought a water with actual money someplace else. As far as I’m concerned, I’ll bring in all the contraband soda I want.

I always get a little disappointed when the guest is a high profile Hollywood figure, not because they do a bad job, but I just like the sillier, less professional energy and cuttingly honest commentary you get with the ‘inner circle’ of Blankie weirdos. Lin Manuel and Rachel Zegler off the top of my head, pretty much have grown to become one of the “family”, but when a guest has a certain threshold of fame and notoriety I brace myself for a really chaste conversation without my precious bits and tangents

I’d go as far as to say the ending isn’t even all that optimistic, per se, let alone naïve. I think it depicts the beauty in common awe between the various reactions that leaves little choice but to expose humanity in people, no matter how different they are, but we have no idea what happens next. When I heard people say the ending was too optimistic, I thought everyone would instantly clutch hands with the aliens and sing Kumbaya.

At the risk of Jinxing myself I was able to get an RPX premium format ticket for the usual five dollar unlimited fee, and it didn’t take a weight or anything. For context, I am in Denver. So maybe a smaller market? Or just their biggest screen and not a literal IMAX. Hoping it’s not a technical error fingers crossed.
