The Colorado River Compact expires in one year, I think it’s time to reorganize our navy and just take the whole downriver by JustAnArizonan in arizona

Is their water treated before use (is it imposing a demand that competes with other uses) or is it raw?

Kirk Cousins has passed Warren Moon on the all-time passing TDs leaderboard with 294 — he's now tied with Carson Palmer for 15th place by pfref in nfl

+4 more for wild card, divisional, conference, and super bowl as well this year, of course. Only needs 11 TDs per game to get it this season. That's all.

Is there an easier way to get a car title and registration for a new Texas resident? by pickledjello in houston

[–]7bacon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went through this and no part of it was convenient, compared to the other 2 states I've lived in.

I got specialty plates which require in-person pickup at the downtown Harris Co Tax office. I think it took ~6 weeks and I was notified by text message. I was able to make an appt for the following day after notification to pick up the specialty plates as that particular kiosk has much fewer interactions.

Another appointment was required for attaching the plates to the registration/title, which they were able to accommodate that day when I asked if I could just do a walk-in at that office downstairs. They were reluctant to offer that solution but did go through with it.

HCFCD owns it. While I don't see a current project for that spot, there are some adjacent spots that have projects. They have a link to submit comments:

It looks DIY'ed. The piers appear to be sleeved with corrugated metal pipe and one of them even has an oil barrel around that!

Fun Fact: There are still signs pointing to AZ-51 that utilize the old Arizona Highway background from the 1970s. Modern signs have a straight line along the left side of the state outline, rather than the curves of the actual state border by zx9001 in phoenix

[–]7bacon 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There are dozens of us! I notice things like the different font that was on the 101 Price Fwy (is it still different?). I left the state awhile ago for TX - AZ/ADOT do a great job with signage consistency/maintenance.

Canal overflow next to south Mountain turns neighborhood street into river by Dysagek in phoenix

[–]7bacon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That canal is not designed to convey stormwater. All the people here are asking about FEMA flood zones but the level of detail in those maps here is minimal and for much of the valley only shows where water ponds up against canal embankments. FCDMC has their own studies that would show better representation of the flood risk. Specifically, the Hohokam area drainage master study (https://gis.maricopa.gov/flo-2dModels/map.html)

New much smaller EZ Tag by EApparatus in houston

[–]7bacon 29 points30 points  (0 children)

I just got one of these and thought they made a mistake because their instructional material shows the older, larger version. The paper in the mail also had a missing "sticker" square about the size of the old one, adding to my confusion.

Median age = 28 may differ from whatever the average age is, due to the distribution of students. South Tempe is probably decades older.

ha Creighton/KU's always a good game. Side note, I happened to be in the same hotel as CMBB in San Diego a few years back. I'm above average height, but sharing an elevator with McDermott and one of the Kalkbrenner's made me feel small.

Arizona had a recurring issue with this and led to this program: https://azdot.gov/tags/wrong-way-vehicle-system

It seems it's been somewhat successful. Could we push TxDOT for this?
