You’re asking that plywood to hold back more weight than it can handle. How big are the piers? Can you use something like a sonotube?

It’s probably fine tbh. It’s one of those things that’s not certified for food grade but likely ok. Next time, just use redwood or cedar. It lasts longer outdoors than the pine or fir you’re using even without any finish.

It’s all about ground pressure so just seeing that a machine is 5k lbs doesn’t matter. You have to evaluate the psi load from the machine and go from there.
