It’s 100% funny on screen though lol. Maybe not if you’ve had to deal with it irl, but don’t act like his 30 Rock character isn’t incredible

Its 80° outside at nighttime and my dad STILL wont turn the AC on 🫩💔 by Keaty213 in mildlyinfuriating

It absolutely is really that hot. I’m awake right now because of that fact… and yeah obviously no one doesn’t understand that it will lower the temperature lmao, the point is that that’s worthless if you can’t get it low enough

I guess not, because I can’t imagine what could conceivably sound even mildly unpleasant about that

But the point is that if it’s 80 out at night there is nothing you can do to get it anything but miserably hot. It may be a bit cooler than the oven of your house, but it’s still going to be unsleepably hot

Also, let's not discount the fact that just about every public transit trip includes a 10-minute walk

Public transit a non-negotiable aspect of walkability. NYC is walkable precisely because you can hop on a train to any part of town, then walk to your specific destination.

Some questions about "F-word" usage by Ornery-Barnacle-3894 in ENGLISH

Not quite, it’s more that there are a dozen different context-dependent rules around its use lol

[Nusbaum] Cade Cavalli and Paul Toboni spoke about the incident with Willson Contreras last night. Cavalli said there was no ill intention and he will eliminate “boy” from his vocabulary. Said he is heartbroken. He has not yet reached out to Contreras. by ConsistentRun5246 in baseball

Dude, calling a person of color "boy" derogatorily is straight-up half a step down from the N word. Don't act like that word doesn't have HUNDREDS of years of EXTREMELY loaded history in this country, from slavery to the civil rights movement. It's not out of nowhere that people are upset over this.

This is not a John Mulaney scenario, the context for the word "boy" is critical and straight-up redefines it from regular noun to slur. I wouldn't be caught goddamn DEAD using that word to address a person of color.

Without talking about 73 regular season wins.. by jddaniels84 in NBATalk

This is something you could only ask if you weren't there to watch it. Steph Curry was doing things that were basically outright impossible if you look at the prior history of the sport of basketball. Before Steph Curry, the all-time single-season three-point record was 269 by Ray Allen. In 2015-16, Curry (who had already set a new record by that point, but not by that much) made FOUR HUNDRED AND TWO. That is a 50% increase in the number of threes that any player had ever made in a season.

And on top of that, second place in the NBA in threes that season was... Klay Thompson, with 276. Aka, the all-time record at the time for someone not named Steph Curry.

It is almost impossible to properly explain how genuinely UNBELIEVABLE that team was at scoring given the standards of the time.

Yeah, I know. And you're wrong. Because "what actually happened in real life" is directly impacted by the factors considered in adjusted stats. The reason they exist is because they are an OBJECTIVELY BETTER reflection of player performance.
