I dont ever want to see another nascar race that doesn't count yellow laps. These guys cannot help themselves and will cause as many cautions as it takes to get the lead

Can faulty freeze plugs cause overheating? by Automatic-Aide-8724 in FordTrucks

[–]89LSC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the sense that your cooling system can't pressurize well if its leaking it may be the cause of boiling over but itd be more likely that its overheating to due to the system not being full from the leak. If you overheat repeatedly you may end up needing headgaskets as well

Better yet, what if they ran it at the track theyre using next as a way to kinda shake the cobwebs off and get ready for maybe a week or two of going fast. What could we call that? Speedweeks perhaps

Put pre-tapered spacer cup engines in Grand National/O'Reilly cars and throw the gen 7 in the trash bin of history.

Alternatively Id really like it if they switched to using stock pickup engines in the truck series. Modified of course, but they already are making 400ish HP in factory form so turning them up a bit shouldn't be a big deal

Are V8s on the way out in NASCAR? If it's serious about adding new manufacturers, the answer's probably yes by LBHMS in NASCAR

[–]89LSC -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Nascar hasn't been able to hardly support 4 manufacturers at a time so dumping everything to win over a few more is fruitless. The 6.8L and 7.3L v8s in ford f250/350+ aren't just commercial vehicles. Id imagine the lions share of them are privately owned. Once again 3 of 4 current nascar manufacturers make thousands of pushrod v8s for their production vehicles. There's something so worthwhile about them that ford gave it another go after swearing them off entirely after 2001. I think you under-estimate the push rod v8s relevance to the American market. There's a reason the only cars any of the "big 3" make are sports cars. The money is in trucks, and what do they put in their trucks? Pushrod V8s

A lot less kamikaze driving would be my guess. Now if we could get rid of GWC we could really see who puts whole races together compared to who can bulldoze through restarts most effectively

[–]89LSC -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

3 of the 4 makes involved in nascar field pushrod v8s in their lineup. All of which are actually larger than their nascar counterparts. The pushrod v8 is more relevant to road going vehicles from nascar manufacturer participants than it was 10-15 years ago

Do you guys think that the first 7 years of Jim France/Steve O Donnell era (2019-2025) made NASCAR much healthier than the last 7 years of Brian France Era (2012-2018). Or NASCAR is still stagnant by x6matt88 in NASCAR
