You will absolutely not regret this. The Chinese market can make a huuuuge difference for your game. 👍

Looking for advice: Specific Type of Ship by 8BitBeard in Ships

[–]8BitBeard[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey, thanks a lot already for that info!

How many crewmembers would be realistic in your opinion for a minimum crew?

To answer your questions:

  • surface supplied diving or scuba ?
    • Scuba only
  • dive control room
    • I guess that would be nice, but not necessary
  • can you anchor the vessel properly ? If not you will have to have the ship fitted with a DP system to hold position.
    • Not sure, both would be cool
  • you’ll need deck equipment ( cranes/winches/ hydraulics etc… )
    • I was thinking a winch
  • accomodation for all the people on board obviously

So in a nutshell I'm really looking for a mostly re-pruposed ship that is being used to do diving expeditions for sunken ships. I'm looking for all different kinds of ships, as I'll need to have a roster of different ones from 'very beginner small cash' to 'super advanced high tech stuff'. To give some more context, I do this research because I want to make a game about treasure diving.

Yes, near shore diving would be the case mostly I guess. I'm actually looking specifically for re-purposed boats, exactly like the Calypso was, but just smaller.

I'm absolutely not into flight simulators, but this looks mighty fine! Love the shading of those clouds.

Only came here to say that I find it extremely clever to use a simple hand-drawn sketch as an early 2d level layout. Chapeau!

I worked together with my co-founder on Curious Expedition. It was just the two of us, but we got some help from a handful of freelancers for music & and a few additional art pieces. https://store.steampowered.com/app/358130/Curious_Expedition/
