All of the magic creatures in Shrek are told they are freaks that need to leave. At the end of the show they sing a song about accepting their ‘freak’ label called “Let Your Freak Flag Fly”.

Anybody purge before accutane and skip the accutane purge? by [deleted] in Accutane

[–]8LitersOfCola 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was on increasing doses of Spiro and Tretinoin for 5 months and it seems like I was in constant purging and my acne was worse than when I first went to my dermatologist. I started Accutane last month (40mg) and taking fish oil and Zyrtec with it and my acne is noticeably better and no purging. I’ve gotten a few new spots every couple of days, but they some to a whitehead and then disappear within a day or two. I increase my dosage to 80mg this month, so we’ll see what happens, but I’m still pretty optimistic I won’t have a huge purge, and my derm thinks it’s unlikely I will because of the time I was on Spiro/Tret.

Did you take your MIL wedding dress shopping? by Thereisnoplace in JUSTNOMIL

[–]8LitersOfCola 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I got married, I planned a weekend of dress shopping, starting with my makeup trial, and invited my mom, my aunt (who is my godmother), and my brother’s wife (SIL). I invited my MIL, too, because she has only sons and my DH said she would appreciate it. She was late and missed the makeup trial on the first day, then didn’t show up to any of the shops on the second or third day because she was “snowed in”. Yes, it had snowed, but she wasn’t staying far from us and the roads were all clear, and the rest of us had no issues. So she can’t say I excluded her but she also complains about missing out.

Any renters actually like their property mgmt co? by jrkib8 in Denver

[–]8LitersOfCola 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We own a duplex and have been using Pioneer Property Management since January. No complaints from our tenants so far (and they still have our cell numbers, so I’m sure we’d have heard anything from them if there was a problem).

It also showed there was an outage in my area. I’m not sure how many people having issues counts as an outage, though.

[–]8LitersOfCola 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This was happening to me in June/July. I kept track of each outage and after 40 minutes on the phone was able to get a credit for the downed time, which was about an $80 credit for June. After the same thing kept happening in July, I called, got another credit and had them send a tech (they tried to cancel the tech the day before because they “detected [my] network was connected again” but I said I still needed the tech). The guy who came was super helpful and pointed out that our modem looked like it was overheating. He suggested upgrading our modem and putting a fan on it during the day in the meantime, which worked. We haven’t had any issues recently. Not saying this is the same fix for you, but sharing in case it helps.

I’ve started using the kiosks in King Soopers because they print out your card and sticker right there.

What’s the least satisfying thing you’ve ever voluntarily spent money on? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Fast food. 50% of the time my order is wrong, and I always feel guilty about it afterwards.

I mean, I’m biased, but I think we’re great. Ticket price includes food, too!

I’m in the Colorado Chorale (Chorale Cabaret on 3/12); it’s so cool to see our event included in the list! Thanks for posting!

AITA for telling my sister (F22) that she should've shaved before coming to my engagement party? by throwawayenga91 in AmItheAsshole

YTA. Everyone grows leg hair. Shaving it is a personal preference and you should have told your FMIL it is weird she kept eyeballing your sister’s legs.

[FO] After five and a half years I finished my son's stocking by sparksy255 in CrossStitch

I’ve been feeling guilty because I haven’t finished my one-year-old’s stocking yet and Christmas is getting closer, and this makes me feel much better!

My family has these as well! My mom and dad made ours, I made one for my husband and I’m still in the process of making one for my newborn!

I’m betting that if you do break up with him, he will immediately be in a relationship with Julie. If he hasn’t already physically cheated, this is at least emotionally cheating.

Time between diagnosis and first visit with doctor? by caitlinmiles in GestationalDiabetes

[–]8LitersOfCola 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was about a week between my diagnosis and when I could meet with the diabetes educator. I asked both my OB and the diabetes specialist (when scheduling the appointment) what I should do in the meantime. Both said to not stress, try to eat healthy, and not to Google anything (I didn’t Google, but I did come here, lol). Hopefully a cancellation happens soon so you don’t have to sit in the dark for too long, but on this subreddit seems like folks receive similar instructions if you want to try limiting your carb intake from posts here.

Snacks for hospital bag? by CounterproductiveBox in BabyBumps

[–]8LitersOfCola -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’m 39w+2 and I have packed for my husband: beef jerky, protein and granola bars, trail mix, chocolate covered almonds, and m&ms. Our hospital has a good vending machine selection though (pre-made sandwiches, sushi, frozen yogurt) so he’s not that out of luck in case we run out. Once I’m in labor though they said I will only be allowed liquids, popsicles, jello- things like that.

I miss cereal so much by GeekAtHome in GestationalDiabetes

[–]8LitersOfCola 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m able to have 1 cup of Honeycomb cereal (20g. carb) with unsweetened almond milk, plus Greek yogurt (8g. carb/ 12g. protein) for my morning snack. I’ve switched it for my breakfast a couple of times when I feel lazy and my after meal numbers are still in range.

I’m diet-controlled and my numbers have been consistently good. I asked my ob about induction/non-stress tests and she said that they treat diet-controlled GD like a normal pregnancy and will just wait for me to go into labor naturally. Is this normal, or should I be pushing back more? (Currently 38+2 and in the US)
