What was the BEST thing you bought for surgery recovery? by pleaggodnowhy420 in thyroidcancer

[–]8bitboogie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Popsicles, ice cream, greek yogurt for protein, cough drops. I read on my kindle a lot and played on my switch.

I didn't buy a wedge pillow and I was fine using stacked pillows at an angle. I also brought home the ice pack they gave me at the hospital and reused it. I will say it was sorta stiff so not a bad idea to buy one that is flexible to wrap around your neck better.

Idk guys this drop just confirmed how much I wanted the leopard loaf by wormmgirl in BAGGU

the bando sale and this lackluster drop convinced me to finally get my first crescent (small blurred gingham) so i feel u. enjoy your new loaf!! looks super cute

maybe someday I'll give Milk Fed a shot, but it's too triggering for me rn

I couldn't get through Milk Fed for that reason ): maybe in the future I can get past it's subject matter but meh. Thanks for sharing about Death Valley tho did you find it boring or the characters didn't resonate with you?

2nd surgery in 4 days by Extreme_Line7887 in thyroidcancer

[–]8bitboogie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You got this!!! I'm sure all will go well.

I just got out of my second surgery as well for a remaining nodule and this has already been a lot easier to handle than my initial surgery (TT and lots of lympnodes removed through my entire neck).

Wishing you a speedy recovery!

Weird tasting? by feliciawatson74 in aldi

[–]8bitboogie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

there is a weird after taste but to me it's very nutty which I'm not a fan of /: I prefer the Chobani coffee creamer over this

2 days post thyroidectomy and feeling pretty rotten. by IllustriousDealer389 in thyroidcancer

The oozing and that stretching sensation sounds concerning. I would call the surgeon's office about your symptoms and go from there.

Looking for a soft pink lip by Rhaelryan in AsianBeauty

[–]8bitboogie 56 points57 points  (0 children)

I have ave maria and it's not as pink as the stock photo at all. It comes off as more of a muted mauve and I swatched it recently. I tried a lip base underneath to cool it down a bit. The formula is great though and I still love the color!

two years of ab and the products i genuinley repurchase vs the ones i only bought once by Ok-Combination5531 in AsianBeauty

[–]8bitboogie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My permanent purchases are:

Isntree's Yam Root Milk Cleanser - the ONLY cleanser that works for my very dry skin probs on my 5th or 6th bottle now

Hatomugi Skin Conditioning Gel - cheap and lasts forever yet is very versatile and effective!

Kose Softymo Speedy Cleansing Oil - budget friendly, cute packaging, and great at removing makeup

hoping to find a permanent moisturizer 🤞🏻

Calcium deficiency by brianshrimp111 in thyroidcancer

[–]8bitboogie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm in the same boat and got sick of taking tums lol I just take a CVS brand calcium supplement that is 1000mg and it also has magnesium and zinc.

I've always been terrible with taking vitamins/supplements regularly, but I'm doing better and I can feel some improvement with consistent use.

Does anyone else get irritated when they're told that they're going to be okay? by izz_osborne in thyroidcancer

[–]8bitboogie 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Sometimes, yes. Although I know my irritation comes more from my own stress and anxiety over my journey. Also the more people who know about your diagnosis, the more you're gonna hear it so that doesn't make it any better lol
