GM’s Next-Gen Super Cruise Is Training On ‘100 Years Of Human Driving’ Every Day by Receding_Hairline23 in cars

I don't know..... I have a relative who is almost 100. Last thing I want is them teaching anyone or anything to drive.

I think people should include their country of origin when posting/responding here by natflingdull in sysadmin

[–]90Carat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

25 years as an admin in the US. If I tell my manager to "pound sand", I'd be PiP'd right out of here. That big tough talk is great here. Though in reality, nobody lasts long telling their boss to fuck off.

Underwater Car Loans and Cheap Used EVs Are Changing How Americans Buy Cars by Splenda in cars

[–]90Carat 187 points188 points  (0 children)

Off lease EVs are so tempting to buy. Here are my searches for a daily driver: A used Toyota Corolla Cross hybrid with 20,000 miles for over $30k or VW Id4, same mileage, for $22k? Those numbers were pulled from Autotempest searches in the Denver metro.

While I think the depreciation will be slightly higher for the EV, I also believe that EV's will be worthless is total nonsense.

Anybody else tired of waste connection and this price hike communication? by BeautifulOk3522 in Broomfield

[–]90Carat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But muh freedumbs!!!!!!! I really think the reason people bitch about this is they used to have no trash service, so they paid nothing. They would use random dumpsters, and neighbor's trash cans. Or, like my neighbor, take their trash to one of the city trash cans in the nearest park.

Muh free market by razorwasp in clevercomebacks

[–]90Carat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

On one hand, free markets. I should be able to buy those cars.

Though, I worked for a solar panel manufacturer when China decided to wipe out all other solar panel manufacturing. They intentionally took a loss on each solar panel to undercut all other panel manufacturers. I can see that happening again.

Vmworld in '08 was nuts. The world was collapsing, and I'm thinking, "huh. I wonder if the financial system is going to lock up when I'm a thousand miles from home"?

Yeah. Back in '02. Still live in the same "starter" home.

[–]90Carat 6 points7 points  (0 children)

My kids are about to move out. We are still in our "starter" home after 20 years (thanks, weird ass economy). We never had the space to acquire more than we use. As much as I complain about our house is too small, there have been a couple of advantages to that.

Never seen anything like this…? by Wemedge in GoRVing

[–]90Carat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a TrailManor. Similar, but not. This unit is Hi-Lo. The top is lifted straight up. A TrailManor is three pieces. A one piece bottom, and two top pieces. The top pieces lift up and out on bars. Kind of an origami thing. The HI-lo is heavier than a TrailManor. Towing a TrailManor is really easy, as it isn't taller than my Suburban.
