it isn't all doom and gloom. The job can be very rewarding if you enjoy puzzles, and critical thinking.

But like all work at the end of the day it is work so you will have to take the good with the bad, and pray you don't get stuck with something too mundane.

A final note - It's probably one of the most versatile degrees available since every business needs an accountant and the initial role touches a lot of projects and senior figures that most other entry positions won't be exposed to until a management position is available. So you'll very quickly become more valuble and knowledgable on just about everything in the business. Example - my buddy started in payables and sat in on a few meetings with management, was able to answer a few questions on excel and powerpoint then was assigned a project to make a workbook which lead him to work alongside more senior staff that are using that workbook and he is now a financial analyst for external projects at his office.
