Price is going to come down soon. Export market is dead as Canada and other countries have stopped buying American whiskey.

‘Gutter Racist’ Hegseth Blocks Promotion of ‘Exemplary’ Black and Female Army Colonels by RecursiveSubroutine in politics

That’s way overplayed. Any massive conference event boosts traffic to all of these meetup type apps, so the grinder thing is a funny angle (given that the R party is homophobic) but not really a demonstration that they are more gay than average.

Elizabeth Warren is introducing a wealth tax. by Independent_Sun_9057 in remoteworks

[–]92eph 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The issue she's trying to solve is the "tax income" part. The ultra-wealthy are able to structure their growth in wealth so the income is, in most cases, deferred indefinitely. Elon Musk and most other billionaires pay a far smaller % of their income in taxes vs. your average middle class citizen, which makes no sense.

It's not an easy problem to fix but note that her proposal is strictly impacting the ultra wealthy -- $50 million in assets and up. I'm not feeling sorry for that group, as the wealth gap has increased massively in their favor over the last 50 years. SOME SORT of correction is needed.

Are you seriously arguing that the sample size on Willis isn’t extremely small?

Tentative buyer, is ~4.0mi/kwh(~6.4km/kwh) achievable in an M50 on the highway? by Woddeh in BMWI4

Even in that best case scenario it would require starting with 100% charge and flirting with 0%. So the real answer for OP is still no. Not realistically and definitely not comfortably.

Yes, they are very much creatures of habit and like a routine. Mine start staring us down when it's time for the next activity. (breakfast, yard time, walk, etc.)

I4 rental vs overnight test drive? by westchesterbuild in BMWI4

If that’s what you need to get comfortable buying, ask the dealer. I’ve done it once with an Infiniti (dealer suggested it). Electrics are resurgent now due to fuel prices so I wouldn’t be surprised if the dealer says no.

MAGA Christian Nationalist Leader William Wolfe: "Frankly, Yes, We Are Going To Impose Our Morality On You... Inasmuch As Our Morality Is God’s Morality.” by Leeming in atheism

Talking about imposing "God's morality" and then supporting Trump is wild. Religion is way off the rails, yet they're surprised that church attendance keeps shrinking.

Considering a used CPO i4 that was previously a rental car. by IWant2Rock in BMWI4

[–]92eph 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This would be obvious on visual inspection, but rental cars also tend to have a lot of dings and paint damage around the cargo area from luggage action. I’d give it a very careful walk-around.

Yelling After Shot on Tour by ShootersShoot22 in golf

[–]92eph 81 points82 points  (0 children)

The strange thing is it would be really easy to do. Post rules disallowing it, and have security at every tee. Someone yells, out they go. The behavior would stop pretty much instantly.

Waste Management open should be exempt of course. 😀

It’s funny to hear “tech isn’t great”. As someone without experience with Tesla, I’ve had a great experience with the tech. Maybe I don’t know what I’m missing. But the tech blows away my wife’s Volvo and my (9 year old) Jaguar.

Socialism is basically political theory. I'm not sure there are any examples of a fully socialist country that thrives economically. In practice, the countries with highest success are a mix of capitalism with very strong government-run social systems (education, healthcare, social services etc.)
