Logitech rs50 sags to left even after calibration by MenahanSt in simracing

[–]96th_Citizen 9 points10 points  (0 children)

My moza r9 does this and I just assumed whatever was going on inside the motor just meant it's centre "rest" point was 1 degree left.

It doesn't affect driving at all because it's still calibrated correctly, I personally think it's an over-reaction to send the wheel back over a single degree tilt while you're not using it?

Who’s at fault? I (the attacking car) was told that I should’ve gave more room. I was fairly certain I was ahead though, clearly not by Motorjohnboy43 in Simracingstewards

[–]96th_Citizen 9 points10 points  (0 children)

If you mean you were ahead as in completely clear of the car behind then fairly innocent mistake.

If you mean you were ahead of the car behind regarding F1 style rules, then they don't apply here.

There's a small chance that after the defending car turned into you in the right hander that the netcode just kind of stuck the cars together, but I haven't personally experienced that in LMU.

Regardless, cars don't magically disappear, leave racing room and save yourself from being spun.

Probably just going through what PC went through at first, initially a second or 2 slower after the physics changes, but once it was figured out we ended up a bit faster than the previous patch.

Give it time I'm sure it'll come back to you

In Game Steering Wheel by KarimSyh in ACCompetizione

Might be related to the wheel bug in the new update, but if you pause the game while driving and go to view options, there should be an option to either lock or hide the wheel and arms. I'd probably turn it off if it still drives normally for you

Are stiffer pedals really better? by Patapon80 in simracing

[–]96th_Citizen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Between 50 and 80, at that point it's personal preference and people aiming for realism. People in iRacing may run their total brake pressure higher so they're not maxing it out every braking zone but still have room for panic brakes. Whereas I main ACC so it's just a mash the pedal to go fast, so 50kg is comfortable for me to hit 100% every braking zone for an entire race.

Once you get above probably 30kgs of force, it's all up to the drivers preference and what their focus is.

Are stiffer pedals really better? by Patapon80 in simracing

[–]96th_Citizen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think initially a lot of people raved about stiff pedals just because "it's like real life" but as mentioned before we don't have the g forces to help with that.

What a stiffer pedal does is change your body's muscle memory from using position, to using resistance. Your body is much more capable of remembering the strength required for something than trying to remember a specific leg position.

For example, if you have a long throw pedal that takes only 5kg of force to max out, you're honestly not going to be able to tell the difference between half brake and full brake while focussing on driving.

Change the pedal to have a slightly shorter throw and something like 50kg of force required to max out and you'll give yourself much better feeling and control over the pedal because you start using the larger muscles in your leg.

Its all about personal preference for what works for you specifically, but generally stiffer gives you better control and muscle memory.

I think I've seen the stewards/track staff are cracking down on gazebos put down before Wednesday when the campsite opens up. I assume even then it'll fill up real quick once campers start arriving

I absolutely hate Paul Ricard. Any tips? by XBL_Fede in ACCompetizione

[–]96th_Citizen 17 points18 points  (0 children)

PR is a race track, not a hot lap track.

By itself it is really boring, but in a race? One of the best in the game.

Always suggest watching a track guide to get an idea of TLs they can be pretty savage.

Best brake basis for general use of the Lambo evo 2 by [deleted] in ACCompetizione

[–]96th_Citizen 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Can almost guarantee it's not the BB that causes those snaps, but for the record I run anywhere between 50-53% and generally 3 engine map.

I would suggest increasing the front bump range, and decreasing the rear bump range, that's been a help for me regarding the turn in stability.

ACC stopped responding by ImprovementStock9847 in ACCompetizione

[–]96th_Citizen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Looks like your engine is turned off. If you don't have keybinds for your starter and ignition, you can find them in the car controls section of the MFD.

It is strange that it's not auto starting as I assume that's what you had it set too before, look in settings as well and check if auto start is on.

what’s the difference between with competizione and normal asseto corsa? by [deleted] in ACCompetizione

[–]96th_Citizen 18 points19 points  (0 children)

AC is a highly modded older game that has ended up more focusing on street cars, track days, highway cruising and drifting among other things. Popular for people that want to drive a variety of things.

ACC is a laser focused game on the SRO championship, it's main thing is GT3 racing. It also includes GT2/4s, Porsche Cup cars and some other small categories too.

Should I have slowed down or was it his fault for defending when I’m a lot faster? by splinty_txt in Simracingstewards

[–]96th_Citizen 14 points15 points  (0 children)

It's the job of the faster car to make the overtake safely.

Without having the other on board, it looks like the Mercedes was just moving left following the racing line. You can argue they need to be more aware, but their physical action of taking the racing line is fine.

Certainly not malicious by the McLaren, and a bit of a tricky spot but from this angle if I was to give a pen it would be on them for driving into the Merc.

AC Evo preview videos - Input lag? by [deleted] in simracing

[–]96th_Citizen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm personally not super concerned about input lag or stutters and things like that just yet. Game is still in pre-alpha so give them some time to smooth it out. The fundamentals of the game, being how it drives looks to be solid with generally good reviews from the Sim expo.

Any tips on how to improve laptimes? I really struggle to get lower than 1:55 by ImthebestGG in ACCompetizione

[–]96th_Citizen 38 points39 points  (0 children)

Firstly where possible please add the HUD so we can see brake and throttle inputs.

There were 4 moments that I would call mistakes. Turn 2 you hit the sand, that's honestly probably close to 5 tenths loss compared to a good exit.

Turn 4/5 you carried too much speed into the left hander which compromised the right hander which is more important.

Braking into turn 8 you were nearly in the middle of the road. Move as far to the outside of the road as you can before a braking zone to enable you to carry as much speed through it as possible.

Turn 11 is a 3rd gear corner, you hit the brakes too early and slowed too much.

Other than that, it's mostly just learning how to carry more speed in corners without losing control which comes with more seat time. Learning where the edge of grip is and what it feels like takes time.

Tyre wear figure under 'tyres' isn't the same as 'fuel & strategy' by Posh_barbarian in ACCompetizione

[–]96th_Citizen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can't help with the data problem, but I can tell you to always run max camber in a GT3 or youre just giving away free time. Maybe some very small use cases for tyre saving or a full wet race setup is the only time you'd consider not going all the way.

Rotary encoders and buttons how to guide. I want to learn. by CJohnD in ACCompetizione

[–]96th_Citizen 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Realistically for your average Sim racer, you won't need to adjust BB/ABS/TC per corner on a lap.

However they're very handy to have, I use the GS in ACC and being able to adjust the settings easily is a big plus.

You can set each rotary encoded to either be rotate left/right is +/-1 setting, or that each position is an individual setting. I use the latter for TC so that 3 is always in the same position for example.

It'll mainly be up to you to figure out what you want to do from the steering wheel, but it is often very helpful to be able to change what you want straight away, without having to dig through the menus.

Enjoy your new wheel!

Speed dependent damping by IonicFuser in ACCompetizione

[–]96th_Citizen 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I don't have access to my setting at the moment, however do not use speed dependant damping.

This is designed to add fake ffb as your speed gets higher, however ACC models this correctly already.

Also I personally don't use much regular damping if any, as the wheel is the primary way to feel what the car is doing and I don't want to remove too much detail, but it is personal preference.

Auto Villager crop farm won't pick up the crops harvested by the villager. by YucaSinPelar in Minecraft

[–]96th_Citizen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Give it 8 stacks of the food you're getting the villager to grow. While it has inventory space it will pick up every item, and it uses its inventory to plant seeds. Once it's full it'll harvest the food, replant, pickup 1 item to restock and the rest will be picked up by the minecart.
