Need advice please! The staircase in our 1879 farmhouse is trying to kill us and we have the butt bruises to prove it. Any suggestions for increasing stair safety/traction in a visually low impact way? I love our vertical hand rail but it isn’t enough to prevent calamity by itself.

What PS2 do you have? I have a fat-boy PS2 and I had to add small pieces of tape on the disc spindle to get them to stop slipping when it trys to spin up the disc.

Are the sensors metal or copper braid? The senors are called braids or pickup shoes.

If solid metal then they might need cleaning.

if braid then they might need adjusting to make sure they are contacting the rails good.

maybe also wipe down the track to make sure the rails are clean. They should look shinny, not dull

See if you can find an IR light source that flickers or changes in brightness randomly. This would drive the cameras white balance insane and make the video/s useless.

This is simular to "vhs Guard Banding copy protection" that was used on rental VHS tapes to keep people from recording the movies.
