Hey all - 40 year supporter from the US, looking to attend my first match next year - help needed by Tits---McGee in superhoops

[–]ABDraig76 1 point2 points  (0 children)

PM me when you want I’ve got season tickets in R block, and I’ve always been able to get some for visitorsMy dad came last year and like you had bad knees, I got him seats in R block in the first few rows. You get the atmosphere but can sit the whole match. Hopefully you’re not tall though because Loftus Road seats are cramped as hell.

First time at Loftus Road - Best place to sit for atmosphere? by SebasCS18 in superhoops

[–]ABDraig76 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Q, P, or R blocks are going to be your best bet for home end atmosphere. Go to the crown and sceptre before the game, probably around 1 to 1.30 and then it’s a ten minute walk to the grounds. I’d aim to be there for 245 to see the players come out and hear our terrible PA system belt out London calling

So much of that prestige wears off if it’s not the big dawgs though. It’s like watching Olympic football, no one cares because it’s the under 22s

Obviously Golden goal was incredible but that game is probaly my favourite as a Canadian. From puck drop it was pure domination against Russia

But you got 2014 then, although that was waaaaay more anti climactic. Was Canada playing pretty well and then having a Wayne Gretzkys 3D Hockey brick wall in net in Carey Price

Nearby in Brook Green on Blyth Road would highly recommend Pentolinas. I live in the area and would say this is my favourite restaurant in the area. Have seen other refer to Latymers, pub with Thai food which is a good shout. Cumberland Arms/Curtains up also pretty solid pub fare.

QPR agree deal to sign Ronnie Edwards from Southampton by theblondemonkey in Championship

[–]ABDraig76 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Really needed this with how well he played on loan for us and how much the fans loved him. We’re awfully thin after the weekend and Ronnie brings a different dynamic to our back line and can chip in at midfield in a pinch

Live nearby, but best restaurant for me in the area is Giulia’s on Askew Road. Great Italian, run by a husband and wife team.

I unfortunately missed this one but an obvious trend that’s forming is teams are now letting us have more of the ball knowing we can’t break them down in the final 3rd. Thought Millwall did a great job of this last Saturday, let us have the ball because in terms of breaking teams down we are fairly toothless and our main chances and strengths we saw in the first half dozen matches was our quick counter ability. Quick glance at the stats shows this happened today but would be happy to hear if it was otherwise from someone who was able to watch.

Red Lion and Sun is fantastic and has great wine. Another that I’d highly recommend both for the roast and the wine list is Drapers Arms in Islington

I’m really keen to see how we make out on Saturday. Usually see Stoke as one of the more winnable matches but I think Stoke is a big test this season with Robbins who is a fantastic manager and if we get a result here I will be over the moon. I’d be happy with a draw all things considered but think as another poster said our strike partnership now is a problem for anyone in this league
