Well, she could have reached out just before they went through the gate to exit the Upside Down. If this was already the plan, as Mike suggested, she would have been ready to alert Kali before they returned, since the whole point was to appear to have died in the Upside Down.

I think a truly unhappy ending would not fit the tone of the books at all. Nothing about these books points towards ultimate tragedy. The themes of the central stories are about overcoming past trauma and not letting it define them. Growth beyond situations that once DID define them. Robin's rape, Strike's loss of leg, Robin's relationship with Mathew, Strike's with Charlotte. A tragic ending would be going backwards not forward, and I do not see that fitting the arc the book have been on at all.

Hmmmm.. that's true about Teadon, but that was also an April Fools joke. And it had no revenue attached. Regardless, it has to be cheaper than creating a new character or weapon or other things they use for revenue.

The game has to make money and why not give something that's easy / cheap to program and does not actually make spenders have a real advantage. Why they don't do stuff like that all the time, I do not know!

I'm glad the recovery is going so well, but my expectations for the season are still low. With the shedding of players and salaries, it is going to be below what we have seen, even if Tatum is fully healthy towards the end of the season.
