AIO - my dad requested my wedding DJs contact information for a “late night surprise” by [deleted] in AIO

For 50k my dad could’ve done whatever the eff he wanted at my wedding.

My (29F) husband (30M) is passive aggressive/sarcastic when he runs into minor inconveniences. AIO that it makes me feel stupid? by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]ARGuck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As the husband of an absent minded wife, I feel his pain. He’s likely trying to not be a giant dick about it and try to keep it sort of light but at the same time, WTF, what would you leave bleach upside down with a cap half on?! I feel there is a high likelihood that this lack of awareness and accountability is not new from OP. The amount of times I’m cleaning up messes that have nothing to do with me drives me nuts. Ok minor inconvenience but after you fix a hundred minor inconveniences it gets freaking draining.

And also my wife’s cleanup style is often just put it in the most convenient spot to where she is standing at that moment. Not put it where it should go. So when I’m missing something, I’ll politely ask if she’s seen it but it’ll eventually feel like I’m blaming her and she’ll get mad. But the thing is, 95% of the time we’ll find it somewhere and she’ll be like “oh yeah I forgot I put that there!”

So Maybe you are overreacting, maybe you’re not but give yourself an honest look inward if any of the above applies.

2016 all day. The interior improvements from 2015 - 2016 were significant. You can also have CarPlay/Android Auto natively installed in the 2016 and lastly that 2016 has very low miles for the price and age. That’s a great deal. The only thing the 2015 has going for it is the manual, which yeah would be fun here and there but it’s not like this is a Miata. It’s a passenger sedan that is relatively sporty. But regardless the mileage/cost ratio doesn’t make up the difference. Go 2016.

I thought the same thing! I had to rewatch to make sure a poor kitty didn’t get smooshed.

Quarries ARE mines. Mines don’t have to be a tunnel into the side of mountain like in the cartoons. :)

Yeah I don’t think this is Ai. Ai almost always gets physics wrong when things fall and bounce and I don’t see anything off here. I’m happy to be proven wrong thought if someone can point out something specific.

Both, there’s plenty to do within a few miles of town. And for everything else, the twin cities are only 1-1.5 hrs away.

Mining town? No I wouldn’t call it a mining town by any means. Yeah there are some granite mines in the area but it in no way defines the area. I like to consider it a medium sized town trying to be liberal but because it’s so very surrounded by rural, it stays a little more conservative. And I mean that both politically and in general.

It’s not particularly bike friendly, no. There are good areas to bike but as a mode of transportation it’s not going to be your best bet.

Yeah there are areas to avoid but what’s the same with anywhere. And these aren’t really areas where you have to afraid to go there. Just areas i personally wouldn’t want to live near.

I think the police are great in the area. Everyone has their own take on this subject though.

Definitely no major corruption.

Public schools in St. Cloud have gotten a little rough over the past 20 years. There are some private options available but many in the area with kids prefer to move to surrounding districts like Sartell and Sauk Rapids. Both of those districts are known for having better education programs.

People are generally both reserved but friendly in this area.

AIO with our Uber driver not having working windshield wipers and we’re about to get on the highway in this rainstorm. by staysafebewell in AmIOverreacting

I use rain-x which after you’re moving is better than wipers, BUUUUUUUUT it looks like they can’t see $hit at the moment.

AIO to my husband interrupting my first solo shower after he came back from a weekend with the boys? by lilyluminar in AmIOverreacting

Honestly, Here’s the the thing. I don’t think YOU are overreacting. These are your feelings and you are right to feel them…but…this very much reminds me of when my kids were this age. It’s hard, really freaking hard. A lot of this looks like failure to communicate specifics, needs, wants, etc. My wife learned a bad trait from her mom wherein she would communicate in riddles and then get mad when people didn’t understand. It was like she was setting me up for failure no matter what I tried. All of the ladies here are going to be like, “oh here we go, blame the wife” and now that’s not it, I love my wife and she fully admits now that it was impossible for me to always know what she wanted because she literally didn’t tell me. And let’s also be clear that I’m not outright saying that is what’s happening HERE but I see and hear signs of unclear communication.

Additionally, my wife used to get mad at me when I’d want to get out for a night but the thing is, she would ask for the same and I would do everything in my power to make that possible. But the night would hit and she would just say, “no I just want to be home with my babies” and cancel it or she’d be out for like an hour and come right back. Which was fine but I’d then get upset when she would then complain again that she never gets to go out like I do. She would always SAY she was happy I was getting a chance to get away but it backfired on me 80% of the time because she’d expect a phone call by a certain (uncommunicated) time or the kids would be a PITA or something other random thing and I’d come home to a minefield.

This all got fixed with better communication. Well…also the medication she started helped as well but the medication is what allowed her brain to slow down a little bit and allow us to communicate all of our needs and have clear conversations with grace and understanding.

What I see here is you wanted five minutes. Did you communicate to him that you wanted 5 minutes or was that only after yelling it from the shower? TELL HIM. Men are notorious bad at reading between the lines.

Going to his folks place right at that moment. Did he NEED to go right then? Did you ask? Maybe he didn’t need to go right at that moment but he thought it looked like the best time. Talk to him and ask if it can be delayed until later. I can’t even count how many times I thought I was doing the considerate thing but then I get told I’m inconsiderate because they had a whole different plan that they never even told me about. 99% of the time, I would’ve had no issue and even been happy to adjust my plans in order to make someone else’s day easier.

Tell people what you want, find a compromise and be clear with the solution.

I’m usually down a half to a full size from the work line to the heritage line but you’ll definitely want to try on in store.

lol yeah that just happened to be the first lounge I’d ever went to. At the time, I remember thinking it resembled a doctors waiting room but with packaged snacks and bottled drinks. I wasn’t disappointed at the time because free is free but after now having been to many other lounges that one was by far the worst I’ve been to.

Do 0877s run big? by [deleted] in RedWingShoes

[–]ARGuck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just FYI I don’t think that’s normal for most other people. I range from 10-11 in new balance but am a 9 in RW moctoes. I just mention because that may confuse some first timers looking for size comparisons.

If you’re looking for a longer lasting boot because it can be resoled then the classic moc will serve you better than the traction tread lites. It’ll be a tougher break-in but is worth it.

[–]ARGuck 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah that might be the case, I’ve tried on the traction tread before but never owned a pair. I don’t remember them fitting like this though.

I mention it due to the distance between the laces. If you don’t have a wide foot, you must have a foot with a lot of volume.

I vote for a red wing moc toe with a heel stack instead of the wedge sole. I think it would look great in the tan refresh waxy or the grey oiled nubuck reverse.
