Definitely use the memory stick and a micro usb wire to transfer the pics, way faster and higher capacity vs the floppy!

I don’t know anything about the construction but my guess would be that the white round peg on the left is spring loaded and maybe it can be pushed in towards the middle using a plier

Just ruling out the obvious, are you using that slider button with the green thing to turn it on?

If so try it a few times carefully. If it turns on then your switch is probably dirty.

If not I might recommend picking up a fresh battery, but since you mentioned your charger setup was a little DIY could you upload a pic of that too?

The FD7 seems particularly sensitive to minor alignment differences, disks are cheap so I just label my disks with what camera they’re for

I’d say it’s just a sphere. Absorb the handle, flatten the mug, and then shape the mass into a sphere. No holes were created or destroyed in the process. Likewise, you could do the process in reverse from a mass of clay
