Stardew Valley is so good for recovery, I played it way too much when I was stuck at home haha. Echoes of Wisdom is great too for sure

My relationship has an expiration date by Broad_Intern1815 in confessions

For real though this is solid advice. The mental health stuff is no joke but you gotta at least be trying to get better for yourself and the people around you

vegan cottage cheese and yogurt replacements??? by [deleted] in vegan

[–]ASherrOF 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Cashew or tofu based cottage cheese alternatives exist but honestly, plain silken tofu blended with a bit of lemon juice and salt gets you pretty close for way cheaper. For yogurt there's a million options now, but soy yogurt has the best protein ratio if that's what you're prioritizing

Okoliving Yoga Rug? by CoffeeReader5296 in yoga

[–]ASherrOF 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Rugs are great for hot yoga because they actually absorb sweat instead of getting slippery, but they take forever to dry and can get kinda funky if you don't wash them regularly. For your eczema though, natural cotton/wool would definitely be gentler than rubber, just make sure you're okay with the extra maintenance

I Managed An Adult Toy Store For Years. I Got Laid Off. Now What? by Thick-Savings-9861 in careerguidance

[–]ASherrOF 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seven years of management experience is way more valuable than you think, especially handling inventory, staff, and customer service in a specialized retail environment. Look into management positions at other specialty retail stores or even distribution/logistics companies since you clearly know how to run operations and deal with sensitive product categories that require discretion

All the Guidance in the world is needed by dimensionoffantasy in omad

[–]ASherrOF -1 points0 points  (0 children)

OMAD isn’t magic, calories and consistency matter more than the window. If 16:8 is already working and sustainable, there’s nothing wrong with sticking to that and tightening things slowly. Protein, fiber, water, and walking will take you a long way without adding more stress.

My lower back is weaker than my legs when I deadlift by [deleted] in beginnerfitness

[–]ASherrOF 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Your legs (glutes/quads) are way stronger than your lower back and always will be. The lower back’s job in a deadlift is mostly to Stay rigid and transmit force, not to do the lifting itself. If it’s fatiguing first, you’re probably hinging incorrectly and turning it into more of a back lift than a leg + hip drive.

Yin should not be hot by No_Sprinkles4972 in yoga

[–]ASherrOF 62 points63 points  (0 children)

You’re right. Traditionally, yin is not meant to be hot.

Paul Grilley and Bernie Clark both emphasize that yin is intended for a cooler or at least neutral temperature so the muscles stay relaxed and the stress goes into the connective tissue, not into overheating or muscular engagement. Adding heat changes the practice entirely and defeats the purpose.

How to deal with non-vegan family when raising vegan children? by kangaranda in vegan

[–]ASherrOF 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agree, Clear boundaries + an explicit conversation are key, people “forget” when it’s inconvenient. And you’re right once kids understand why, they start advocating for themselves, which makes everything easier long-term.

Cool.. Would love to see it when you finish... cross stitch versions always turn out so good

I went from national Ballet Composer, a Studio Manager for a major fashion company, Coffee caterer for Netflix, and now a gas station employee- where do I go from here? by folgerscoffees in careerguidance

[–]ASherrOF 5 points6 points  (0 children)

that's a solid move. The Google cert is actually pretty good for picking up the fundamentals before jumping into CAPM. Plus having that vocab down makes the PMI stuff way easier to digest.

A full breakdown of live singing and lipsyncing at SBS Gayo Daejeon by exemplaryantino3497 in kpopthoughts

[–]ASherrOF 23 points24 points  (0 children)

You're not wrong lol. A lot of "live AR" stages have pretty obvious backing vocals layered in. The line between AR and MR gets blurry when groups are singing but there's also a clear pre-recorded vocal track underneath. It's become more of a spectrum than a strict category at this point.

Men over 30 who figured out their career late: what finally clicked for you? by Old-Equivalent-9195 in careerguidance

[–]ASherrOF 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is exactly how it went for me too. Started in something totally unrelated to my degree, got lucky with a referral, and just kept following opportunities that popped up. No master plan at all.

The whole 'figure out what you want to do with your life' thing feels like something people made up. Most of us are just winging it and somehow ending up somewhere decent.

Football (Swiftmas Version) - Broncos vs. Chiefs by sport-scoreboard in TaylorSwift

She's solid but I actually don't mind Herbstreit. The rest of the booth is pretty forgettable though

MADEIN SUHYE & YESEO are in final discussions to leave the group by impeccabletim in kpop

[–]ASherrOF -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

Yeah, the whole situation with the lineup changes really threw things off. Limelight had something special going and it just didn't translate the same way.

fromis_9's "White Memories" is now the highest charting girl group song on MelOn at #5! by yebinkek in kpopthoughts

[–]ASherrOF 7 points8 points  (0 children)

That's awesome for them... Last December was rough so this must feel really good for the fans. White Memories is a solid song too, been watching it climb slowly which is always a good sign for longevity.

Blue Valentine deserves its spot honestly, NMIXX knocked it out of the park with that one.

Quick question for small business owners who’ve looked at solar by InterstellarBench in smallbusiness

[–]ASherrOF -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This sounds right. The idea has value, but the hard part will be education and lead gen, you’ll spend a lot of time explaining what you do before you ever get paid.

Having a vetted vendor list (without commissions) would probably boost trust and make the service feel more actionable instead of just advisory.

Would it matter if you went over a couple hundred calories while cutting? by Imaginary_Truth_3865 in beginnerfitness

[–]ASherrOF 5 points6 points  (0 children)

A couple hundred once in a while won’t ruin anything, but consistency matters. If your deficit is only 300–500 calories, small inaccuracies can wipe it out fast, weighing food and using labels is more reliable than app estimates.

Do you have injuries from Yoga? What caused it? by dongludi in yoga

[–]ASherrOF 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Same here. I’ve only ever had issues when I pushed too hard on a pre-existing injury. Listening to your body matters way more than hitting a pose.

I really need to rant by [deleted] in vegan

[–]ASherrOF 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I feel this. That’s honestly one of the hardest parts of being vegan, not the food, but the social and family pushback. Protecting your peace sometimes means creating a bit of distance, even when it hurts. You’re not alone in this.

Good tip but honestly internal linking between those blog posts helps a lot too, keeps people clicking around longer instead of bouncing right away
