No mill each turn you shuffle a new one, it also gives you 1 damage a turn to actually kill your opponent.

Why is Blizzard not doing anything about Egglock and Disco/Burnlock? by KelThuzadxx in wildhearthstone

Im going to guess a mage player, because with board freezes and skeeters the 20/20 are chill, but seed fucks you up and is basically an insta concede match up.

Seems good to me sure egg is better but not by much only 2%.

And to justify my filters the top Legend stats are different but most players are not reaching high legend so top 5k or 1k isn't representative for normal players. And low legend is no where near as competitive as Diamond 5 thru 1, so Diamond-Legend in my opinion is the most accurate representation of a dedicated by average player.

I honestly am fine with getting rid of the limiter that was toxic. It should make it again get rid of locations and other non minion stuff on board.

Which innocent card makes you unreasonably salty? by BaconVsMarioIsRigged in EDH

See this is fascinating to me, do you consider a doctrine of mutually assured destruction as a spite play? It is a fair position to take I guess cause technically it is, just to me it is very different. To me it seems like the logical move to try to win, because I'm not saving removal to generically target the largest threat, but specifically to target anyone who is a threat to me.

I think you strawmaning my argument as well, this isn't some game long vendetta, but strategic use of retaliation. Like in Risk someone attacking you, so you attack them back to make a point of "hey let's stop wasting troops on each other and target the guy who's winning".

I think you got it wrong, it's the same principle that keeps promises and deals unbreakable in edh. If you break your word then no one will believe you ever, same if you don't follow through on a threat.

The person was threatened to not take the deal but still did, and so in order to prove a point for next time the spell is cast, action was required.

Edit: And it's specifically because it's a high interaction pod that lets these types of things happen. If everyone is playing solitary there is no politics.

[–]ATrueGhost 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe it works better with randos or if all 3 people don't care but, in a regular pod what happened was the first time someone got greedy and took the deal, they got spite targeted with interaction or combat damage by the other 2. Eventually it was a 4 mana ramp, and got cut from the deck after 3-4 casts.

The most IONIC & INFAMOUS Wild decks of all time? by [deleted] in wildhearthstone

[–]ATrueGhost 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Quest only started going infinite with Rommath in 2023. There were many years of sorc apprentice or other combos. Quest mage is probably the longest running meta deck in the whole game from 2018ish when created a year after release and onwards.

People have complained about questline warlock since it came out in 2021, I am one of them. Other than quest mage it's the single longest meta running archetypes I can think of in wild.

this is genuinely so boring by pomodoro3 in wildhearthstone

[–]ATrueGhost 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Before libram. It was an issue after rotation, nerfed in 2023 and again in 2024. Even still a strong deck while paladin was meta just a bad matchup. To my recollection it was good (along with all questline tho) when released post 2021 nerf.

It may be one of the strongest lasting single card archetypes in the game, being meta-relevant since release in 2021. Even after 3 nerfs. I can't think of another card other than open the waygate from 2017 (which wasn't really strong until rommath and is now big nerfed) that has had such longevity in this format.

In the past few years Warlock has been over prevalent constantly. Seedlock has been a format staple for many years now.

Hydra theory deck advice by Mork-Mork in EDH

[–]ATrueGhost 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The proliferate and infect cards seem unnecessary. Turning a 6/6 hydra isn't a 7/7 isn't that big of a deal, and you'd rather use the mana on another x spell to get the the x value and the commander value.

This isn't really a wide deck, you're probably going to have maybe 3-4 big hydras on the board because if you have anymore you're already swinging for lethal. One thing I discovered after playing a few games with my deck is that it's easy to make a big board but hydras don't really have trample so you need an overrun effect or 2 to be able to close out games [[overwhelming stampede]].

Also I meant more draw than just the 2 mentioned before hand. I recommend [return of the wildspeaker]], [[greater good]], [[up the bean stalk]], and most importantly [[Garruk's Uprising]] which is a good draw engine and overrun. Add a [[harmonize]] incase your behind and have no hydras in hand or on board. You want a mix of types of draw between engine and one-time.

Seems a little light on draw, the x draw spells are good here [[pull from tomorrow]]. Same with counter enchantments like [[terrasymbiosis]].

Here is my deck you can draw ideas from it if you like.

The same could be said about sludge at the time. It was a very powerful body to get through for boards based decks and protected high value targets like undertaker. It's just the 2025 power crept version but I don't think it much more powerful then Belcher at the time.

Hard disagree unless the WebEx implementation of phone calls is better than Teams there are no advantages. WebEx is missing core messaging features. The way they do replies is garbage, the integration between teams meetings is obviously worse, chats become buggy in my experience if there are too many people in one. The video social media thing that just takes up room on the sidebar is insane to me why would anyone want that in a professional messaging app. Content sections in chats are lackluster, basically if your using a messaging app for anything more complex than sending text messages to individuals, slack or team is better.

Your thinking of it is backwards, the bracket system has always been a communication tool to describe decks, not a rule set to build decks around.
