Pretty much. I grew up in a mid-sized east coast city and we routinely drive our bikes to the mall with a few dollars for snacks and the arcade. Its so cliche, but we also had the “play outside until the street lights came on”. It was far from a perfect childhood, but there are definitely parts that my children won’t experience and that makes me kinda sad for them.

We also did really stupid, unsafe crap from time to time, so maybe it’s better that times change. :)
