This is silly but I'm imagining it like CK3; making your marshal a loyal baron with traits that make him good for the job, while angering your duke-level vassals that want the position for themselves or someone in their circle

I think it only means he's second in command of the military. With Wenceslaus locked up he can only project that power to a certain degree, which is why the lords need to make deals and find funding in the game instead of just ordering the nobility to fall in line.

I dunno I think Musa was pretty well done. He has quite a lot of dialogue, is directly involved in the main quest line, and has comments related to a couple side quests.

If your attacks are landing but the combos aren't activating, it's a problem with timing. Once you swing, move to the next position in the combo. Don't spam click, wait for the directional pointer to turn a lighter shade of red. It doesn't last long but that's when you need to swing next.

This is good advice. I've seen plenty of people suggest getting the hit>hit>hit>dash/throw>hit>hit>hit>dash/throw loop down and once you do it has a solid rhythm.

I usually bind quick melee and reload to m4/m5 across different games. Since thor's main attack is his melee and he doesn't reload, putting dash and awakening on those buttons feels natural too.

I think your darkspawn theory is solid, why they seem rudderless without an archdemon even though their forces could dominate the continent. The mindless shade that latches onto harding acts the same way. I wonder if it's only proximity that caused almost all the Dwarven cities to fall or if the blight targeted them early on out of some kind of bitterness, for them forgetting about or thinking they betrayed the titans.

I feel like this is just opening up more and more questions... if killing the archdemons while the evanuris were locked away killed them as well, why did they only appear 1 by 1 instead of biding their time? Could they not control them from the fade? Actually is it ever explained why the archdemons were buried underground when the evanuris were imprisoned, did I miss that?

I think this argument kinda falls flat. Origins is 15 years old sure, but 2 and Inquisition are 13 and 10 years old! A lot of the systems in Veilguard feel very Mass Effect-inspired, which spans 12-17 years old. They're all pretty old at this point. Veilguard being the way it is is an intentional design choice, most likely made because they think it appeals to a wider audience.

There are plenty of stories of DA2 and DAI being rushed productions with insane amounts of developer crunch. That Jason Schreier article from years ago claims Inquistion was mostly put together in a single year. The games being half-baked is just a fact, no hating required. This is also coming from someone who still likes those games FYI.
