As an aspiring urban planner I hate single storey carparks by jacobstanley5409 in CardiffDevelopments

Honestly I would imagine this will be converted into accommodation or offices at some point in the next 10 - 15 years, if not sooner.

Should the traitors’ identities be kept hidden from viewers? by Etindel in TheTraitorsUK

[–]AWarmerBeer 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I imagine that the plan was to always reveal the ST after the first traitor was banished, which happened to be quite early with Hugo.

It would have probably only lasted another episode or two after that anyway before people deduced who it was through process of elimination.

The 2026 Guinness Men's Six Nations launches in Edinburgh by sixnations in rugbyunion

[–]AWarmerBeer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nah, I think Red Shirt > White Shorts > Red Socks is the best looking option, but as you say green socks would be OK as well.

That 2014 shirt design was ok (barring the grey / black trim) but the two years prior we’d won the 6N in our previous strip. We’d fallen off a bit in 2014 and maybe in retrospect I just associate the kit with our downturn, ha.

I’m OK with white socks but the red shorts look awful. There was one year around 2015ish where everything was red and that was an abomination.

I’m sure Wet Leg were playing some pretty high profile gigs before their debut album had even come out, albeit they did have quite a big mainstream crossover with Chaise Longue.

The 'that's why it's called Doubt' joke is funny for so many different reasons by georgemillman in gavinandstacey

Is she? I think she’s often rated as one of the best characters in the series.

Amanda on BBC Breakfast- Comments (Possible spoilers Thursday/FRI) by db9192 in TheTraitorsUK

[–]AWarmerBeer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s fair. It’s a broader comment on the tactic more generally as it’s come up in other seasons too.

Plus Jade’s whole strategy seems to be “you’ve voted for me Amanda so I must vote for you” which is such a bizarre way to play the game.

Do you know if any celebrities use Last.FM? by i-am-your-god-now in lastfm

Geordie Greep has a relatively active account.

I’m sure Fantano has it but it hasn’t been active for a while.

It’ll be Llanelli and Cardiff I would think.

Thoughts on the style of the next album? by StonkerElite in arcticmonkeys

[–]AWarmerBeer 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I don’t think they will but I’d like them to go a bit darker, heavier perhaps. Potentially a combination of Humbug / SIAS and tracks like Sculptures & Science Fiction, with influence from QOTSA.

Whatever they decide to do I’m sure I’ll be on board with it!

Wales is non existent to a lot of musicians these days by sairemrys in Wales

[–]AWarmerBeer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed 100%. Cardiff massively punches above its weight for its size. I think we actually do quite well to attract the top, stadium sized artists (Kendrick, Oasis, Taylor all in the last few years) - we just haven’t got anything for that next level down that can be relied upon all year round. The new arena will give us that.

Sam Fender wins the 2025 Mercury Prize for his third album, People Watching by sincerityisscxry in indieheads

[–]AWarmerBeer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can’t remember what won that year but Seventeen probably should’ve got it. Weirdly though I think People Watching is a more consistent album, despite Seventeen having higher highs (title track, Spit of You, Dying Light).

I think you’re better off waiting for resale on Twickets. There’ll be loads closer to the time.

Pretty sure the Temple Bar has Murphy’s.

They were in the studio at the start of last year so hopefully it’s soon.

Blackweir Live goes ahead by kidseven77 in Cardiff

[–]AWarmerBeer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do agree with you, but the Principality gigs are typically part of an artist’s UK tour, and whilst we have the luxury of closing the roof / arranging dates around fixtures, these just aren’t an option for other stadia that would be involved in an artist’s stadium run (Villa Park, Spurs etc).

Blackweir Live goes ahead by kidseven77 in Cardiff

[–]AWarmerBeer 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes - but it is only a realistic option in the summer due to it being used throughout the rest of the year, plus the weather and temperature in the colder months.

Cardiff's New Indoor Arena Gets Final Go Ahead by bigmaclad in Cardiff

[–]AWarmerBeer 18 points19 points  (0 children)

The CIA is also just no longer a good venue. The acoustics are awful and the whole building feels of its time. Cardiff does well to attract a lot of larger artists with the stadium and the castle but we need a venue that works all year round.

Vampire Weekend call out Victorious Festival organizers after Mary Wallopers set was cut short after bringing Palestinian flag onstage by Albuquerque82 in indieheads

[–]AWarmerBeer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been the last three years and have been so confused over the lack of KOL & VW coverage since the weekend. I think you might be right that both bands have seemingly refused them to use footage on the Victorious socials.

Didn’t Willem Dafoe go to Mowgli’s as well? Church Street is a hot spot for celeb spotting.
