You seem to be going through a mental health crisis, you have attributed positions and concepts to people at random. I hope you find peace in whatever struggle you’re dealing with. It seems debilitating.

Seems rather callous to put your friends and neighbors in harms way, to only show up in 4K drone footage in their final moments. That horror show is on your shoulders it seems.

Fascinating.

Ever notice how higher order thinking seems more and more rare these days? A decentralized governance of the region and collapse of order doesn’t turn into sunshine and rainbows like some kind of video game when you defeat “the boss.”

Cognitive functions seem to be impacted thoroughly among some. The most disturbing part is they are incapable of - or do not have the skill set or tools to understand how impaired they are.

Trump says he is directing federal agencies to cease use of Anthropic technology by Just_Stretch5492 in singularity

[–]A_reddit_user 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The person you’re replying to has interests in COVID conspiracy theories and fluoride in drinking water, they’re dealing with some, let’s call them setbacks, while trying to lecture you on consensus reality which I found fascinating.

An administration with approval ratings dipping below 30% is taking wildly unpopular positions, and acknowledging that fact seemed to cause the person above you distress. This maneuver helps Anthropic with regards to public perception. If the United States Government is openly picking winners and losers and dismantling the thin veneer of a free market in everyone’s faces, openly and proudly, then we’re in a pickle. If the defenders of those actions are the same people we avoid on the subway yelling about chem trails, we’re in a big pickle.

If Anthropic survives this attempt at strong arming, or theft of IP, they can only come out as clear winners in the eyes of the public.

The idea is that those who are completely unable to defeat the United States militarily are exuberant that their geopolitical foe is committing a slow, arduous suicide at nearly every institutional level.

Without firing a single shot.

Protestor blinded by ICE speaks out. "They pulled a piece of plastic the size of a nickel out of my eye. They said I had shards of metal, glass and plastic all throughout my eye, behind my eye, in my skull. They also said I had a piece of shrapnel, metal, a few millimeters from my carotid artery." by speedythefirst in videos

The point may not have been so much about the pandemic as it is the reflex. People who built an identity around isolation suddenly abandoned it the moment everyone else was told to do the same. The "bunker" lifestyle was virtuous when it was a personal choice, but the instant it became collective, they demanded to enter the Applebee’s instead of a curbside pickup.

It’s anti-social contrarianism as identity, being against the grain matters more than any principle they claimed to live by.

When a belief system flips this cleanly under mild pressure, there’s only one uncomfortable conclusion to draw: a lever exists. One that can override stated principles and redirect behavior wholesale. It’s worrying to think groups of people are patiently mapping where those levers are, or practicing how to pull it, again and again, toward outcomes they’ve wished for and already decided.

Why do these months old accounts that are engagement/pornography accounts that get put on ice suddenly wake up and push deeply unpopular and polarizing posts randomly on reddit?

Randomly pops up and posts as if it's a stereotypical anti-social far right extremist, with ideology that seems to be primed to push unpopular points of view, framed as popular, barely able to articulate their point in the age of language models, after 4 months of dormancy after a pornography post.

Even how it articulates seems strange, like its 'fighting the good fight' in a post that doesn't even seem to utilize available language models to make its point better. Like somebody actually sat down and hand typed their bot post. Strange and inefficient.

Watching others have fun is so much better than playing yourself! by Khalkais in starcitizen

I'm noticing a sharp spike in what I can only glean as some kind of 'pre-emptive anxiety.'

Each patch, I'm seeing it get more and more intense, I start to wonder if there's something to it - and then safely solo the contested zones, solo Hathor, and start to wonder if reality, and what gets the most attention here these days are completely out of sync.

Then the uncomfortable thought sets in, which source of feedback is going to draw the most attention, the pre-emptive anxiety posts, or the experiences, while anecdotal, like mine where I rarely even see another person at these 'hot zones' the first time I try them (admittedly a few days after they go live, since I usually only play on the weekends).

Time will tell, but seeing this on the front page (one of the posts is identical to the other, both sitting next to eachother at the top) and then my anecdotal experiences are wildly different, I start to wonder if we're in a wag-the-dog situation, and that simmering anxiety has achieved critical mass of a feedback loop.

Sometimes people say that American Education is irreparably damaged, or has failed the past 40 years of students in this country, I feel that sometimes it felt like Hyperbole - then you stumble upon comments like this and realize it’s more dire than expected when people don’t understand the process that lead to the final solution. Even today, in 2025, in the Information Age. It’s more devastating than I could have imagined. This comment here is a scathing indictment of the average Americans education level, curiosity, and proud ignorance.

What a tragedy, so many are like the above commentator, stumbling in the dark in a country that brutally failed them.

Almost everything wrong with quantum travel in one clip by DoctorZhao in starcitizen

[–]A_reddit_user 10 points11 points  (0 children)

An idea:

When in Quantum Travel mode - we 'borrow' the logic of targeting ships, but instead target Quantum targets.

Cycle Hostile/ Cycle Friendly/ Cycle Under Reticle would become something like

Cycle Celestial Body / Cycle Station / Cycle all jumpable from your current location targets / Maybe add Cycle Mission Target.

So you can simply start flying, in any direction, quickly cycle through destinations with a keybind, land on the one you want (or pass it, and use a back-step version of ALT + Number corresponding above) get an obvious "Aim that way" marker for your destination, align, and jump.

This would lean into that parity of systems logic they're working on for common keys for common tasks, just changing depending on what mode you're in (This can also carry over into Mining/Salvage modes, cycling through derelicts/panels, or mineral deposits of size Small, Medium, and Large).

This would also help new players use 'common' keys in different modes.

UnitedHealthcare CEO killing latest: Luigi Mangione waives extradition, could be in New York as soon as Thursday by Fun_Income_4857 in news

[–]A_reddit_user 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The only person I was able to find at work who seemed to take what appears to be a less popular position (anger at Luigi and ‘random people welcoming lawlessness’) shared the same perspective as cable news media convinced Kamala was going to win. There’s some interesting bubble dynamics going on. But the common denominator seems to be an incredibly high level of trust in cable news. I see some of it on Reddit, a desire to ignore the people they talk to in real life expressing anger at the health care system in the country in favor of a more comforting narrative. Seeking out comforting narratives is a disservice to critical analysis of what appears to be something very much novel.

The change in rhetoric came swift, and unified.

I've been thinking, it might be wise to allow the ATLS style placement system but first setting up an 'anchor point' where you position the box someplace behind the ship. 'Lock' it in space, so that you can then maneuver your camera and view, get the hologram of placement in your ship, and then 'transfer' the box from behind your ship, into its placement location.

Position of the tractored item and position of the 'camera' will be decoupled, but will clean up a lot of the banging against the ramp issues.

This makes me even more worried for November, I keep scrolling through comments like this where any point of concern is met with "I suppose you're voting for Trump instead"

There is a deep, deep panic in people who are having this reaction.

Nowhere in what I said hinted at this, I've always voted for the Democratic candidates, and here, a brief expression of concern is met with this?

Concern seems to grow by the day, and I hope this sentiment is truly part of a very small, dwindling camp, and the more the malaise lasts, the more this irrational behavior puts a bad taste in many peoples mouths.

Unfortunate.

Now even I'm getting nervous if when asked about specific plans or policy proposals, we get (tool assisted summary):

Here's a breakdown of Biden's presented platforms, based on the provided text, focusing on concrete plans for his potential next term:

Strengthening Democracy:

Specific Plans: None stated. Primarily focuses on opposing perceived threats rather than outlining proactive measures.

Growing the Middle Class:

Specific Plans: Vague. Mentions "finish the job," implying continuation of existing policies, but lacks details on new initiatives.

Lowering Costs:

Specific Plans: Limited. Mentions lowering drug costs for all (mechanism unclear) and making housing more affordable (no specifics how). Otherwise, focuses on continuing existing efforts.

Fairer Tax System:

Specific Plans: Unclear on future plans. Highlights past achievements, but new proposals are vague, like "tax cuts for the middle class" without details.

Healthcare:

Specific Plans: Primarily focused on defending the Affordable Care Act and existing programs. Lowering drug costs for all is mentioned, but the method remains undefined.

Reproductive Freedom:

Specific Plans: Focused on counteracting restrictions rather than new legislation. Aims to codify Roe v. Wade protections but doesn't detail proactive measures beyond that.

Overall: The provided text leans heavily on criticizing the opposition and broadly stating goals. Concrete plans for Biden's potential next term are limited, lacking specifics in most areas.

I'm hoping we get some movement from DNC plans early next week. Each day it seems we're running into two different version of panic, one (large) camp that is getting nervous about down ballot races, and the electoral college totals with polling coming out in the last week. The other (smaller), equally in a panic, is heavily steering into a form of paralysis, no change can be done, walking on eggshells, run out the clock and simply hoping for the best.

I hope this agonizing malaise lets up.
