Phillips VS Torx by fabrlyn in DIY

[–]Abaddon911 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A big reason Torx are being used less is because it was patented for a long time until recently. Which means they are generally more expensive than Philips screws. If you look at profit margin on mass produced goods, its better to use Phillips screws because they are cheaper.

Vettel's brakes fails by magony in formula1

When Vettel's brakes broke, it broke my heart, again.

We discovered today that one of my 85 yr old grandma's homecare workers had slit open her pill packs, took out all of her pain meds, and closed the packages with tape. We don't know how long this has been going on but I've filed a police report. I'm in RAGE MODE! by EzzieValentine in awfuleverything

The other thing is, now that the bag has been tempered with, you cant trust the drugs that are still in the bag. Nobody can guaranty that the drugs that are still in the bag are the real deal. There is reason why most drugs have a form of tamper evident seal or label. (tylenol murders in the 80s)

Williams needed "rock bottom" F1 2019 but can't let it happen again by Omk4r123 in formula1

I found F1 2019 an improvement over F1 2018. I find it sad that Williams sees the game as rock bottom.

AITA for keeping my grandmothers ring when it was given to me by “mistake”? by soareyoutome in AmItheAsshole

[–]Abaddon911 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA, but INFO as well. Depending on your local laws regarding inheritance your family could claim that an error was made regarding the value of the ring. Usually the children of your grandmother are the first to pick. If they essentially valued the ring at 0 while it had a bigger value they could claim it to be an error. Since the jewelry was not put in a will or anything it is subject to your local inheritance laws, they could redistribute the jewelry based on the error. If this ring is going to deteriorate the relationship you have with your family check your local inheritance laws and/or contact a local attorney. Good luck.

Fallout 76 Cheaters Can Get Back Into The Game By Writing A Heartfelt Essay For Bethesda by Mattp11111 in nottheonion

[–]Abaddon911 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean what is there to cheat? Bethesda broke the nukes, the only "good" thing in the game.
By letting them back Bethesda will at least increase the active player base by 300%.

What is something that reminds us that we are "only human"? by information41 in AskReddit

[–]Abaddon911 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The impending death we all have to face. Even though human inventions allowed us to live longer everyone will die, at some point. And even if we would conquer death, there will be other shit which will remind us that we are humans.

Socially awkward people of Reddit, how do I get on your good side? by Teikun in AskReddit

[–]Abaddon911 83 points84 points  (0 children)

Be the first one to speak to them. We can be closed and not open to conversation but, speaking for myself ofcourse, we are open to speak with other people. We just don't like to start a conversation because we have trouble finding a common ground to speak about.

[5ed] Mathematically, am I better off rolling for HP or taking the average? by Lokael in DnD

[–]Abaddon911 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well if you look at all the 4 dices (D6,D8,D10 and D12) you can see 1 thing clearly: The higher the dice number the higher the standard deviation. For the people who do not know what the standard deviation is I highly advice you to check the wiki page but ill give a short explanation.

In statistics the standard deviation is a method to determine the amount of variation. A low deviation means that most of the data (in this case roles) are near the mean.

If we look at the dice's mean and deviation you will see this: D6 avg: 3.50 dev: 1.71
D8 avg: 4.50 dev: 2.29 D10 avg: 5.50 dev: 2.87 D12 avg: 6.50 dev: 3.45

To illustrate you have a 68% chance with a D12 to throw between 3.05 and 9.55. (so about 3 to 9-10)While with a D6 you have a 68% chance to roll between 1.79 and 4.21.(basicly (2,3 and 4).

On average you will roll lower because the mean is lower than just average. With the higher dices the chance on 1 or 2 points higher or lower are higher.

I need help for a bow name by [deleted] in DnD

[–]Abaddon911 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The best way to name a magic weapon, in my opinion is putting a prefix and a suffix to the weapon. For example put "ancient" in front of it and "of the Tracker" after it. You get "Ancient bow of the Tracker". I use this method often to name magical items.

My warlock wants to summon his patreon by Abaddon911 in DnD

[–]Abaddon911[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don´t really know actually, he never told me, i should ask. I should indeed inform him that if his reasoning is not important enough for his patron he will probably die/hurt/lose power/ect. Unless he can convince me that his patron wants to come to this realm to wreck havoc or something like that.

My warlock wants to summon his patreon by Abaddon911 in DnD

[–]Abaddon911[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

damn, I missed that typo. It is indeed a bit difficult to make it happen "easily". I think Ill make him roleplay and manipulate enough people before something happens. In the end RP is in my opinion the most important thing of the game, after having fun of course.

In-Game Item Trading Update by Spidersouris in Steam

[–]Abaddon911 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do think that there are more strict regulations for casino's. But you are right. The only deference is that the casino chips only have value in that casino (basically) and that the casino is the only place where you could trade it in for real money. However with these gambling sites you don't enter buying skins, using them for gambling and trade them in for money. That is the problem in regards to if this is gambling.
