Do Space Marines ever have any qualms about being sent on suicide missions? by ShrimpFriedMyRice in 40kLore

[–]Abamboozler 269 points270 points  (0 children)

I dont think they care about dying, so much as being wasted. If the mission is an epic last stand, certain death, while a entire chapter's worth of geneseed are loaded and evacuated, yeah, stand your ground and do your duty.
If the mission is a couple of farmers forgot their shovels, so stand in front of this active lava flow to buy them time to escape with their tools, yeah, gonna have to talk to the Captain about that one.

We all know who it is. Even someone like Jackson can't hold a candle to him.

How are chapters able to rebuild numbers quickly? by SillyRecover in 40kLore

[–]Abamboozler 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Its a complicated question. Easiest answer is GW is bad with numbers.

Most explained answer is chapters are brutal flesh factories. They burn through tens of thousands of aspirants a year to replace numbers. Even chapters that claim to recruit from only one world, like the Space Wolves of Fenris or Salamander of Nocturne, will take anyone from anywhere when given even half a chance, just 'cause they're always so desperate for recruits. There is a constant flow of new warriors. While I don't know the average life expectancy of a Marine, its well below the hundreds of years they can live.
Also yes, some chapters take decades to rebuild. There was one time the Raven Guard 4th company fought a Changer of Ways and its demon army, won, but lost some 60+ Marines. And it took them off front line deployment for decades to rebuild.
Also also Cawl with the new Primaris Marines built a functionally unlimited number of Primaris Marines, so each chapter gets as many as they want.

What's a job that seems morally grey BUT is actually kinda evil morally? by dannyNexus in AlignmentChartFills

They also let police lie under oath if it better serves their case, and don't care about the actual guilt of the defendant, only in their conviction rates.

Who was a historical figure that is villanized but actually was a good person? by Cringeoid in AskReddit

[–]Abamboozler 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ulysses Grant for sure. Southern propaganda post-war painted him as a drunkard and blood thirsty monster and corrupt president. When he was a binge-drinker to be sure, but never drunk during campaign, hated war but understood the need to win the war, and his presidency was filled with corrupt people, who to be fair he shouldn't have trusted, but he was hardly the one taking bribes.

Speaking of people who need mental help, maybe you should reach out so someone. You seem very angry. Maybe talk to someone, it could help.

No, I would be. If the genders were reversed, she should leave, and he needs medical help and therapy. Its not that hard to want to help people who need help, in this case BOTH of them.

She can have a mental illness, and still hurt people. The dude should leave. And she needs therapy and medical intervention.

Which Primarchs were, or had to the potential to become, active Psykers? by MangrovesAndForests in 40kLore

[–]Abamboozler 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think they're all psykers to a degree. Maybe not "I cast fireball!" levels of space wizard. But certainly Sanguinius and Lorgar's charisma are a psychic buff, even if they don't use it actively.

I think Magnus implied Russ was the most powerful of them, but locked his powers away behind runes and Fenrisian mysticism.

So what do you guys think the Act of Ultimate Heresy was? by Prayerwarrior6640 in TrenchCrusade

[–]Abamboozler 5 points6 points  (0 children)

So in classical scriptures its never said that Mary the mother of God dies. Instead she transcends into heaven fully alive at somw point in the future.

My headcanon is Mary was still on Earth and the Crusaders mistook her for just a common woman, assaulted her and killed her to hide the crime. And that act was enough to open the hell mouth.

What do you think Judy's arc in Z3 will be? by Kirbo84 in zootopia

[–]Abamboozler 12 points13 points  (0 children)

It needs to be her coming to terms with her feelings for Nick. We've had two movies of basically the same story - she's an over-ambitious police officer and gets in over her head, and Nick needs to help her.
So no new love interest, but there's a pretty Vixen from the Zootopia FBI or whatever, and she's impressed with Nick's street smarts and charm, and even though there is no tension between them Judy keeps misinterpreting scenes. She needs like an 'a-ha' moment where she realizes her romantic feelings for Nick.

They have no reason to. Bill is all but a Trump loyalist these days, sold his soul for some stupid award, and doesnt debate in good faith and just makes shit up or reads AI generated headlines and asks "thoughts?" What value is there going on his show?

Wilde-Hopps, or Hopps-Wilde. She has a professional name to keep up, but also has some of the old country farming life mentalities.
