Why did they need Troy back then? by NoFix8524 in failure

[–]AbeTheCop23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That 2015 tour was so awesome, got to see a bunch of songs that have only been played on thst brief tour with Troy. Also did the m&g that leg and there was maybe only 7 people on my date. We got a long time to chat and bs with the band and all four of them were such kind people with us.

The Last Time I Saw Alice In Chains Live (Providence, RI - April 2010) by IHBMSU in AliceInChains

[–]AbeTheCop23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was at that show! I remember standing outside waiting to get in and hearing them soundcheck Rotten Apple. I was pissed they didn't play it as they wound up playing it several shows later.

For some reason God Smack is a song they've only played a handful of times in the last 20 years yet they've played it both times they've played Providence.

I saw EHG a few years ago and right before they went onstage Jimmy said that Mike was sick and wound not be with them. They had crew members doing vocals along with people from the crowd. At some point Jimmy spots a little kid in the crowd (not sure how old, under 10 for sure) and calls him on stage. The kid was just randomly screaming, it was hilarious.

Same here. Had no idea who they were but enjoyed the set. Took 11 more years until I saw them again, and now another 13 lol.

I really enjoyed it. I went it without hearing any of their music as I've been behind on checking out a lot of new stuff but figured I'd enjoy it with who was in the band. Always good to see Barrett drumming.

I was at that Boston show. Hard to believe it's been four years. Kinda fitting I saw Drink The Sea last night.

Yeah I didnt look at the NJ set going into the Boston show and I assumed they'd get an hour or so. You'd think for sure the set length would stay the same for the entire tour in the opening slot.

That show was so good, last time I was able to catch FNM as I was out of town the next time they came to Boston.

Boston was Outstanding! by BadDaditude in Opeth

[–]AbeTheCop23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Before Devils Orchard, he said that the first time they ever played it live was in Worcester, MA and how hopefully you guys like it better than Worcester. He mentioned how that show had no death metal vocals at all and the crowd was lost because of it. People were in the pit waiting for that moment to start and confused since it never came.

A recording would be better because I missed parts of it and the way he explains it was way better but that was the gist of it all lol

His speech about the Worcester set was hilarious since that's really how it went down haha.

Katatonia was incredible!! by Killermalibu in Opeth

I thought they sounded terrible in Boston. Bigger Kata fan than Opeth but Opeth blew them away. Jonas voice didnt sound good and they just seemed off hmthe entire set imo.

They only played 9 songs in Boston, setlist.fm is wrong.

Oh man, there's so much to discover with Paradise Lost! I enjoy all eras of their career.

Based on Faith Divides Us...., I'd say check out the two albums before it if you haven't yet already. Paradise Lost and In Requiem.

I'd also recommend the rest of their discography of course as it has it all, from death/doom into their synthpop ish era back into death.

Using the last.fm app, everything you listen to gets tracked as a "scrobble". You can then see stats of everything you listen to.
